Thu 9/25/2008 6:57a | Yep today's the day. In fact the appointment is about 8a Disneyland time. Based on my tally, 12 suggested boy while 29 suggested girl with U K Fan saying he felt it was a boy but the coin flip said girl. =)
So its not too long before we discover who will have bragging rights.

Thu 9/25/2008 9:16a | Doctors appt went well. The heartbeat is strong and all measurements were great.
However we still don't know the gender of Doobabykah. Since me, the mom to be is old as in 36, they prefer to do a more thorough ultrasound screening. My regular obstetrics doesn't offer it so my paperwork is faxed off to the larger area hospital and I have to wait for them to contact me and schedule an appt.
So no worries nothing to fret about -- now we wait to hear from the other hospital. Although if I don't hear by Monday I'll be calling my dr. back to follow up. =)
Even though we didn't get the gender today. I'm really thankful to have had the chance to hear the heartbeat again. Its very reassuring as other than weight gain there's no real way to know that things are o.k. in there yet. Soon I'll be getting the punches and kicks to update me. =)

Thu 9/25/2008 10:50a | I had mild blood pressure issues, nothing too serious, but it did mean extra montering. So, I got like 4 COMPLETE ultrasounds and in the 3rd tri-mester twice a week I went in and they counted kicks as well as doing an "incomplete" ultrasound. (All they were doing was noting the position of the baby and measuring amniotic fluid.) The monitoring didn't turn up anything and AJ was born COMPLETELY healthy, but yes, it was very re-assuring. |
