This is my 1st trip report on here. Me, my husband, son and my parents stayed at the GCH for the 2nd time with DTD view. We were on the 5th floor across from Naples. I had trouble with the housekeeping the 1st night. They came in late and turndown a bed when we had our Privacy sign on and they didnt even shut the door all the way. Someone could have came in and robbed us. That made us mad. I thought Privacy meant something. Anyways, the 1st day we were there we went to DCA. that Thurs was hot, cause the humidity. We rode TSM and I did like it but there was a lot of empty wall space. We then took our 12yr old son on Screamin for the 1st time, he didnt like it at all. We then went on the GRR and it stopped on us while we were climbing up to the top. That was not comfortable at all because I was leaning sideways.
The next two days we were at DL. We went on every single ride there. I think we did Pirates 8 times and Splash 3 this time. On our last time on Pirates we had a teenager in the front row who kept putting her feet up on the bars. The cm told her 3 times to remove them. She never did. (we were hoping theyd kick her off) When we ended the cms gave her a dirty look, you can tell they were pissed! and now Im planning a trip again to DL in Jan 2010. Because of course I have the DL withdrawls.

Yeah my first on here wasn't too long ago :)

Gosh!! What a bummer! Especially when you've got your DH, DS, DP (Darling Parents) with you. Did they have a good time still?

I hope you reported the housekeeping to the manager, those privacy door things shouldn't just be there for decoration and they know that.

So, GRR just stopped? Did it resume?

Yeah, that's a tough one to figure with the uncooperable guest on Pirates. I guess they figure, they paid to get in, they don't have to follow rules like that. I mean picking fights and stuff like that, paid admission or not I've heard they have the right to kick you out or if you're a child acting up, I think I heard there is a detention center or something they can take you to til the park closes and your parents come pick you up. I don't know if it's age-bias or not, because I think my best friend said his Uncle had that done to him once, would do things like I think spit from the SkyWay cups and stuff and was caught. That or of course shoplifting. But I guess mild stuff like you described they're probably less strict about because although annoying, it's not causing much harm to other guests.

I really hope you have a better time your next trip!!! Yeah, those withdrawls can pile up quick in little over a year :(

Actally my parents didnt have a good time because my moms arthrtis was acting up in her knees and my dad was feeling motion sickness when he got off the rides. The GRR did start up after 10mins of sitting there. I didnt report the housekeeping cause I forgot cause we were so busy.

Awww :( Very sorry to hear that about your folks. That's certainly no fun.

Yeah, 10 minutes wouldn't be fun sitting there in that position.

The housekeeping complaint probably is nothing to worry about, I'm sure it's still possible to let them know online since it was only a few days ago, but stuff like that I'd like to think happens rarely at the Disney hotels - at least I hope! Have you ever stayed at HoJo's?

No, we never stayed there. We either stayed at the Marriott or Candy Cane Inn. And or next trip we might stay at the Candy, but Im not sure yet.

Kari, so sorry to hear that your trip was not as enjoyable as it could have been. It is hard going with family who can't endure the rides and walking at DL. I hope you still walked away with some fun moments and memories. I love Hojo's and have never had any problems. It might be worth considering.

I liked getting soaked on the rides, then I felt better cause the heat was bothering me. And I had to go solo on Splash one time because no one else would

I forgot to mention that we were waiting in line for Peter Pan for 45 mins and it broke down, and because we in near the front of the line, we decided to wait it out another 20mins. And when we went on the Jungle Cruise at night, the boat lost all its lights. So we did do the whole ride in the dark, that was different!
