September 16,2008

This is our final day. :( We spend the first half at DL riding our favorite rides. Anna and I somehow stay dry on Splash. We did catch the first show of the Billies. DH ruined my diet completely by ordering a plate of chili cheese fries and root beer floats. Of course this was breakfast since no one was hungry before leaving the hotel. The rest of the day was spent at DCA. Anna and I rode CA screamin our favorite ride. TSM was a must too. We had a late lunch at the Trattoria. DH and I shared a chicken panini and salad. Tiramasu was our dessert. Then Robby wanted to go on his new favorite MM. Well there was no line at all, so you can imagine what happened next. After the 7th time on MM I was done. We finished the day with Anna and I going on TOT. Then it was time to shop. My loving DH bought me a really soft blanket, xmas ornament and precious moments figurine at Off the Page. We then let the kids spend their money. We said goodbye to DL until next time. The kids finished the evening with Pirates Cove.

We finished our trip with a drive up the coast from Santa Monica to Monterey. Seven hours on Hwy 1. It was really pretty, Solvang was not as fun as I thought it would be,and the kids had to use a port a potty by Big Sur. I will not tell what Anna had to say or Robby for that matter. ;) We stayed in Monterey. Then drove home to Reno the next day with a stop at Casa De Fruta.

What a nice end to a good vacation. You do need to know the first rule of vacations though: No dieting allowed, vacation calories don't count. mmmmm chili cheese fries mmmmmm

Dieting is NOT allowed at Disneyland...it says so RIGHT on the board that shows wait times for the rides. It's in REAL small print at the bottom, but it's there...I've seen it myself. Actually, I wrote it there myself, but that's beside the point.

I thought with all the walking that needs to be done that you end up walking the calories off. So every food is an option.

Sounds like you had a fun time. I agree about Solvang-it USED to be a fun place to go with one-of-a-kind shops and such. Now, see one shop-you've seen them all!

I blew my diet the first day with a churro. LOL! Of course I tried to eat some good foods so I would not have to endure stomach problems. After eating healthy for so long I find that too much greasy fatty foods will make me feel sick.

MM thanks for pointing out the fine print on the DL board. Ha! Ha!

A churro is just what is needed to start the vacation off on the right foot. Unfortunately, I did not discover the joy of churros until the last day of my vacation. Next time I assure you, it will be first.

I really enjoyed reading your reports! Sounds like you got everything in including shopping!!! Something about Sephora in DTD makes it so much cooler than at a local mall :)

I've checked the wait board and anything that is on there, even if it's in white scratchy lettering, has to be true.

Solvang for us now is a lunch/hit the bakeries/hit the candy store where they make their own chocolates and we are out of there. It's pretty around Christmas time though.

We were in Reno last weekend, I should have waved :)
