This topic is for Discussion of Latest: OrlSen: Disney announces new European cruises
According to a Noon EST report on the Orlando Sentinel the Disney Cruise Line will send the Disney Magic overseas for five months in 2010, for a series of sailings that will take it from Russia to Northern Africa. The report offers further information on this itinerary and reports the Disney Wonder is expected to begin longer sailings from Port Canaveral while her sister ship is in Europe. I really want to take the trans-atlantic cruise.

But these new itineraries sound really fun including the 12-night trips that will go from Dover, England, to St. Petersburg, Russia, with stops in half a dozen other countries.

Great that they will target marketing at Europe. If it were not for Disney message boards, I would have never known about the European cruises last year.

I think this gives us a great excuse to try the Disney cruise considering it is docking near to us!!!

I'd love to take the Dover cruise as northern Europe has always been one of the places I'd love to visit, but I don't know if my budget will stretch to this and DL next year.

Anyone know if prices have been announced yet?

Kieran - a category 11 stateroom will run at £3,649 for double occupancy. The Med cruises are significantly cheaper. Reservations open next Tuesday.

^^ Sorry - the rate is in USD. I hit the GBP symbol by accident.

We really enjoyed the Transatlantic cruise last year. Weather could have been a little better for the crossing, but otherwise it was a dream. I would love to get back to Gibraltar, as we did not get to the siege tunnels.

Now, I just have to figure out which cruise to start saving for.

You can take transatlantic cruises on other lines for as little as $499 a person ... no Disney magic included.

I am astounded by some of the prices being quoted for the European cruises as well ... clearly they are aimed at a European audience (assuming they'll have any money left too!) because those prices are just ... absurdly high.

Malta is a great port call. Highly recommended.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
