I loved them too, but that place closed shop in 1994.
I'd kind of like to just have a thread that focuses on from late summer of 08 onward ... kind of a pet consulting project of my own going on here :-) |

Amazing that you use the word "disaster" to describe the financial situation in the macro-economy, but still consistently foam at the mouth about cutbacks. What prudent business wouldn't be cutting back in this "disaster" environment? As a stockholder, would you want your company to be burning through cash in an economy where cash flow is drying up? |

| Witches of Morva Mon 10/13/2008 9:17a | ORDDU: Here's another example of a cut back for you. Just yesterday, while keeping company with one of our favorite waiters who works at a certain restaurant in one of the Disney parks, we were told that a 7 ounce serving of Macaroni and Cheese was reduced to just 2 ounces while the price remained the same.
ORWEN: Talk about PRICE gouging. Disney oughtta be ashamed of themselves.
ORGOCH: 'Course they AIN'T cause they stopped listenin' ta their conscience an' Jim Crick in the neck along time ago! |

| ImaginingDisney Mon 10/13/2008 12:01p | WHAT ABOUT THE LETTUCE?
I stayed at FortWilderness, and cut backs occur here too. It took 3 days of DAILY complaining to get them to fix the soap dispensers in the rest rooms and it too over 2 weeks of daily complaining to try to get them to replace all the burnt out lights in the camping loop. By the time we left, they had still not relamped the loop.
One of the cast members said the guy that used to care for the loop lighting retired and DISNEY never bothered to replace him. HUH? Talk about bad management.
Not to mention the paint is peeling off of the monorails. What happened to keeping the parks brite and shiney?

| Kennesaw Tom Mon 10/13/2008 3:20p | I also feel that Spirit is being a bit overly negative here. With all due respect Spirit, I know your a nice guy and I agree with you most of the time on most discussions. But, I really don't think the sky is falling. However, since I'm at WDW right now I have noticed a few things. First off the outside facade to the Hall of Presidents is dirty and in need of some new paint. Walking between Casey's and the Crystal Palace my party noticed leaves on the ground which surprised us as the area should have been blown clean that early in the day.
Today we noticed one of the wooden screens over the lighting in the big queing room ( the one showing the movie clips ) was bent. The was dings, scratches and torn off paint in the queing area for Toy Story. So general matience is down. |

| Witches of Morva Mon 10/13/2008 6:59p | ORDDU: My sisters and I always like to say that Spirit of 74 doesn't MAKE the news he just reports it. And we're quite proud of anyone who isn't willing to hold back on the truth of a situation--even if it means risking offending others. After all, nobody should defend mediocrity. That's one of the reasons America is having the current problems it's having now. |

| Kennesaw Tom Mon 10/13/2008 10:28p | Not to be a Pollyanna but lets face it there are somethings that WDW is doing right. So just dwelling on the negative is not very helpful. As for the reasons America is having the "current problems it's having now" is open to interpretation all of which belong in World Events section. I'm not posting my political viewpoints here. I wish others would refrain for that as well. |

| leobloom Mon 10/13/2008 10:41p | One of the things Disney's doing right is not adding any new attractions.
After all, they'd quickly fall into disrepair with little hope of repair(Nemo is apparently the latest victim on this count).
Better that they don't add anything at all. Can't get your hopes up that way. |
