I hope Universal kicks WDW's butt over the next few years. WDW mgmt only reacts, they no longer innovate. So until the have something to react to (like the attendance at Universal and Sea World parks because of blockbuster new rides) then we will never see a new Monsters Ride, or the LM ride in Fantasyland or more expansion at DAK.

I can add one more thing, just visit DL over the next few years. They are actually spending and adding quality attractions and shows out there. Not to mention their holiday events are FREE and put WDW's EXPENSIVE holiday events and parties to shame. The only thing I really miss about WDW when I'm at DL are the better themed hotels. But that's something I easily, and quickly, get over.

>>>I do know that if I had used the same tone about the President Elect I would have been permanently removed from most forums.<<<

Big difference is the president elect has not been in office yet, Bush has, and worse so, was re-elected (democratically the second time).

>>>The complete unadulterated hatred in you folks is amazing.<<<

Sadly, the encumbant is the only person I have ever had malice for. He didn't just sully the Bill of Rights, he wiped his butt with it and left it out for the world to see. I am angry. I am angry that I have had to answer for him everytime I meet someone new. That the country and system that I love is not the mentor for the world I thought it was.

2 things have really made my blood boil over the last 8 years - the behaviour of Bush and the slide in quality of Disney. I don't have religion, but they are the two institutions I had faith in. It hurts. It makes me anger. And anger sadly can lead to hate.

I have tried to e diplomatic in all the years on LP, but frankly I will just write what I think and feel. If you like it, great, if you don't, that is your choice.

And that's the lesson in humanity, we all have different opinions, we can live with it or not.

Well you could go to California, get it there, and have a blast in Disneyland.

Indeed DLP used to be like this too, but since more and more managers have come from WDW, they are adopting more and more WDW ideas, and not in a good way.

>>WDW, which is less than three years away from another milestone B-Day, has ... well ... uhm ... ah ...plenty of unsold DVC inventory either completed (Saratoga Springs) and unsold or under construction (DAK Lodge Villas, Bay Lake Tower, Treehouses at SS) and unsold.<<

Is it my imagination ... or is this whole DVC thing an over-rated concept .. where Disney is going "just a tad" overboard on it?

Liam Neeson had a line in Episode 1 of the Star Wars films .. that I think the people running this division seem to be "drinking" - Greed can be a powerful allie. ;-)

>> Big difference is the president elect has not been in office yet, Bush has, and worse so, was re-elected (democratically the second time). <<

Absolutely no excuse Dave. At no point have I ever used nor will I ever use such hateful speech against any President of the USA or any other World leader. The absolute only times I have ever made any kind of political statments have always been when another person finds the need to bring up politics in a WDW forum. To call any politican a "MONKEY" is a pure sign of unbelieveable hatred, and a total lack of respect to other posters in this forum. It took almost everything I had in me to avoid a personal attack against such complete, and total ignorance. As bad as Bush is he does not deserve such a disgusting reference. I just have no respect what so ever for a person that would resort to so much crudeness, especially in this forum.
I have grown very tired of peoples attacks against people with differing opinions. They try to present themselves as nuetral all caring independent thinkers while spewing their hatred.
Let me say one other thing. I will no longer tolerate attacks like this to take place with out making a returned response. If Doobie chooses to ban me from this sight so be it. I will never initiate a political statemnet of my own, nor will I allow one to go unchallenged in the future. While we are at it lets get on the religious kick for a little bit. I am not a member of any church. I do not attend any church. The last time I was in a church was for a wedding a couple of years ago. However I do respect peoples right to worship the way they see fit. I have never had my freedoms infridged on by any religious group, and I've been around a long time while living a very Worldly life. You may find it funny Spirit when you bring up your lawn persons name as Jesus, but I think it is an affront to a lot of people. You say you are not religious, and that's your business. However I am definetly getting the impression that you are anti-religioun, at least anti-Christian. Please tell me I'm wrong, and please don't bring up the over used saying of how many wars were brought on by religion in the name of God, please do not insult my inteligence, what little I may have of it in the eyes of some. Now I have no intention of trying to change your mind, but I will comfront this kind of talk from anybody. I don't care how many threads I derail. Hatred does not belong over here like it goes on in WE. I just wish the people who claim to be so above such things, and are open, and caring about each individual's rights, and feelings really were. Everybody please feel free to express your views over on WE. The kind of vile hatred that has been shown by a few will fit in very nicely over there.
Dave I respect your views, and you have never tried to hide your opinions under the guise of being an Independent, but I think you have to admit this kind of political, and anti-religious talk keeps working it's way into a forum on WDW. If you have to explain yourself for the actions of a political figure from a country that you left 25 years ago, you really need to find some new friends. Yes I know you hate Bush, and I told you I feel sorry that you have been stuck with such a strong, and destructive emotion. I hope you understand why I can no longer allow such hateful speech to go unchallenged. I hope I have made my stance perfectly clear, and once again can get back to what this forum is suppose to be about, that being WDW.

I agree totally. I think Disney has backed themselves into a corner with the DVC. Sooner are later the DVC owners will become like the AP holders in DL. They will start holding Disney to the standards that they set for themselves a long time ago. They have way over built, and have left themselves in a very awkward position. Anybody with any sense should have been able to see that no fiscal responsibilty shown by either the Executive branch or the Legislative branch was bound to lead to a correction in the economy.

Disney did what everyone else did. Over-invest in real estate. 2 years ago the condos looked like a sure bet. Now it looks pretty dumb. I wonder how much panic is going around WDW execs in regards to condo inventory.

<<Words speak volumes on people's character. I think some of your words prove that. They or not worth repeating. I do know that if I had used the same tone about the President Elect I would have been permanently removed from most forums. You folks do the liberal, and all incompassing compastionate party a great service with your hate speech.>>

I don't know if you are speaking of me ... or folks in general here or what.

But I assure of two things, one I am in no way, shape or form a 'liberal' (not that there's anything wrong with that, the same goes for conservative ... those terms have become dirty words in the past decade) and I am not a Democrat (largely they just as bad as the Republicans, and they are pretty bad).

That's just so you understand that I am very non-partisan spirit and a clear-headed, thinking one.

<<Spirit when you say there is only one party, and one person to blame. I'm afraid you let your true feelings out.>>

I never said there is only one person or one party to blame. I do, however, place a large share of blame at Bush's feet. The man is the worst excuse for a president we have had in the modern era (and likely worst period). I don't have one iota of respect for the man and I do believe he should be tried for treason for breaking the Constitution.

He is vile.

That said, he has loads of company from his minions in the White House to his opponents in Congress.

This disaster may have started in the mind of one man, but it sure didn't have to happen. No one stood up to him (in either party). Everyone allowed his power to go unchecked.

And now he leaves his successor with an incredible disaster (and since everyone thinks you can turn things around overnight, look for him to be criticized for the mess before he even gets to take the oath!)

But please, don't mistake my feelings for 'W' to somehow make you believe I don't feel there's loads of blame to go around because I do.

And the American people themselves deserve plenty of blame ... they voted him in twice (although some of us wonder about the first one). Anyone should have seen in 2004 what a disaster the man was and tossed him ... apparently they had to wait until he had us in two wars and had destroyed the economy before deciding 'maybe we should give that Obama dude a chance.'

<<The complete unadulterated hatred in you folks is amazing.>>

The hatred I hold for Bush and what he is done is only equaled by the love I feel for my country and its people. You may not agree with me ... or you may not like it ... but at least I'm honest.

<<I wish you all well in the future as some of us try to actually put polotics behind us for the time being. I hope you are all proud of the vile hatred that you spew. Yes you all have demonstrated your true colors, and I think you know it too. Thanks for the lesson in humanity. >>

I really hope you calm down, MPierce. You don't want to go all loco emotional like my pal Nikki The Educator.

If I weren't so filled with humanity and a sense of revultion for what is happening, I wouldn't be angry. I'd be one of the apathtic sheep who sleepwalk through their days and lives ... that's not this spirit.

Now, I only hope that my thread hasn't totally been murdered here.
