>> Well ... some of us believe that one party (and one individual) was more to blame. <<

>> I never said there is only one person or one party to blame. I do, however, place a large share of blame at Bush's feet. <<

You win on a tecnicality Spirit. However you over look the leaders of the House, and Senate finacial committees. The Senate, and House majority leaders, and the clear bi-partisan members of said body's. Yes the President should take a heaping big portion of blame. He has consistently failed to provide the leadership this country needs. He has shown absolutely no fiscal responsibility while in office. He has been a horrible President and very few will be sorry to see him go. That said both parties share in the recession period we are about to enter if we aren't already there. I just expect you to show that unbias attitude you keep talking about. We both agreed that the bail-out of Wall Street was a joke, and I believe the rest of the nation sees that now, as the economy slowly slips into the toilet after a partial rebound. Just remember that it was supported, and introduced by both parties. A large number of Republicans, as well as Democrats saw the socialistic approach of this unprecedented step, a few even paid for their stance by being ousted from office. So it is my true belief that unchecked policys by both parties lead to the finacial situation that we now find ourselves in.

>> I don't know if you are speaking of me ... or folks in general here or what.
<<

I'm speaking of some folks in general. I tried not to put it on to much of a personal bases, how ever I did feel it necessary to point to you on your religious statement. I respect your opinion Spirit I really do, but that kind of statement was completely uncalled for in this kind of forum. The only reason I brought it up is because it was not the first time it has happened.

>> really hope you calm down, MPierce. You don't want to go all loco emotional like my pal Nikki The Educator. <<

Believe me I am calm. I just don't find the necessity to bring up religion or politics in any of my post unless in response to someone else. Do you really feel the loco emotional or The Educator was necessary Spirit. I really do respect others opinions. I feel there is always a need for Spirited debates on different subjects, not hateful personal attacks that have seemed to find their way into a forum on WDW.

>> If I weren't so filled with humanity and a sense of revultion for what is happening, I wouldn't be angry. I'd be one of the apathtic sheep who sleepwalk through their days and lives ... that's not this spirit. <<

Passion about such things is very understandable, however I do not feel that this is the place for it.

>> Now, I only hope that my thread hasn't totally been murdered here. <<

It got a lot more hits, and I am more than willing to see this thread get back on track.

Hello, I haven't been here much the last few days, lots of meetings at work. Is this still the WDW area of LP? At least mr x didn't show up here.
I usually enjoy when a thread takes a side step, but this really does sound like WE. I voiced an opinion there once, I'll never go back again.

"I really hope you calm down, MPierce. You don't want to go all loco emotional like my pal Nikki The Educator."

For one, I would have to say that yet again, I really don't think we need to have a ton of personal attacks here. After reading post 97, I would also like to say that it was in no way upset. It was simply stating a point of view that was different from your own, and quite consistant with the Community Standards of these boards.

MPierce, thank you for writing post 97. There's a lot of stuff in there that needed to be said, and I really hope that it didn't fall on deaf ears. It brings up many things that I was thinking, but couldn't really find a good way to say them. Be reassured that you're not the only one that feels that way.

"Is this still the WDW area of LP?"

It is, but it sure has brought up a bunch of not-so-ordinary discussions this week. It seems like after the elections ended, WE let loose and attacked WDW. It's interesting that it doesn't seem to have affected the DLR, DLP, TDR, or HKDLR boards. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing and not a permanent change in the wind. If it is, I don't think I will be visiting the WDW section any more.

I too thank MPierce for post 97. There has been too much hatred throuwn around about the soon to be past administration.
That sort of hatred began before Bush even took office and grew.
We need good things to come from the next administration(I doubt it will).
But this economy has got to get better or WDW will really start to suffer. You will begin to see more and more changes here and not for the better. You think there are cut backs now...
How's Austrailia looking these days?

All I wil say at this point is I respect your views. My comments are how I feel and were in response to other political posts on this thread.

Those of you who have not travelled outside the US in the last few years will not have experienced the hatred and prejudice brought on by the premiere. Nor the questions of the integrity of our country and democracy in genral. I love America, and that is why I will state my opinion (the only personal attack was on Bush).

Why does it only crop up on the WDW boards? Well I put this down to 2 key things, firstly, the decline at WDW is in step with the decline of the US probably more than any other resort. The second thing is, the people who oft frequent WDW and probably these boards, are statistially more likely to support the Bush regime (or the GOP) and hence the attrition on here.

Now I hve two choices: I stay in here and speak my mind about the resorts (and anything else that comes up in conversation) or I go and leave you to love fest for WDW.

The latter is easier perhaps and the one that would make you all happier. But then the cons and DIsney execs in Fla win, and I can't bear that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And that means if I want to call Bush prof of the missing link, that's my perogative so long as it does not contravene community standards. and if you want to be offended and retort, that is also your perogotive. But I would rather get back on topic.

To my mind, I really believe if WDW focused more on maintenance, cast training and adding WoW attractions and service again, they would provide a much, much better eperience for all that would improve the bottom line.

Why Oh Why to the same people constantly bring up politics on this area?
Is it imposible for Spirit to make it through a post without invoking a negativism toward our sitting President or Republicans in general. Its not as if there isn't an entire area completely devoted to politics on this board to begin with!

I'm getting so fed up with it. It just seems extremely apparent to me that some people who I imagine are just bored with WE find it necessary to make their way into WDW General just to create political arguements here. Yes, I said arguements. I'm am also fed up with so called independents on this Board convene like a pack of wolves hell bent on attacking anyone who doesn't share the same political thought as they do. I guess posting their vile messages in WE isn't enough, or perhaps has gone unnoticed long enough by the moderators that they feel enboldend enough to take their political attacks elsewhere on this Board, suck as WDW.

I'm just absolutely fed up with political attacks here.

KEEP IN IN WORLD EVENTS!

"The second thing is, the people who oft frequent WDW and probably these boards, are statistially more likely to support the Bush regime (or the GOP) and hence the attrition on here."

If the people who would be visiting the WDW boards are more likely to support the President, why would that make them be leaving the boards? The only thing I can think of it is that it is some subliminal way to attack people whose ideas are different than yours, since it seems that all of them have vacated World Events.

"Now I have two choices: I stay in here and speak my mind about the resorts (and anything else that comes up in conversation) or I go and leave you to love fest for WDW."

I would like you to stay and speak your mind about WDW. When applicable, politics can be brought into the conversation, but keep it relevant. In general, I have noticed that you don't tend to start things, but don't do much to stop them either. But if it's a converstation about how there's a fountain that's not working, or even when they will be adding a new AA to an attraction (even if the attraction features politicians, but is more about the American spirit than the politics of the individuals featured in it), think about how nessecary the comments are. I'm all for hijacking threads and letting them evolve into different converstaions, but if they are going to be political things that just get people upset, let's leave that for WE.
