Fair point FA, I am a little stupid at times in life. I tend to focus on points that are raised and do a knee jerk reaction to respond rather than looking at the big picture. I suppose I have to let so many things slide in the career world, I kind of let my emotions run riot on boards. If there is something I disagree with (or more constructively) can add a facet to, I will.

Now, back on topic, I really hope these new DVC accommodations are fantastic, so that they are a draw in themselves. I really do think WDW management need to develop and share a vision that is in step with the public's expectations, otherwise, the resort is going to have growing problems.

At this point, I just hope they're able to sell them. They're about to open two huge new expansions in WDW (AKL and Contemporary), along with the GCH at DL, and I think they're still trying to sell Saratoga Springs. With the economy the way it is, I really wonder how long it will take to sell all (or even enough to break even) of the units.

Since I have NO interest in condos I have lost interest in Disney's Condo Kingdom.
And now I hear that the Monsters Inc. Kiddie coaster is on hold until after the recession.
Wow. A kiddie coaster is gonna break the bank? How much did they spend on Bay Lake Tower? How's that sellin'?

I think that's the point, the DVC units are revenue centres, the attractions are almost viewed as cost centres or PR/Marketting to my mind.

I am happy about the GCH and Hawaii expansions however, it makes DVC almost worth it again.

I'm sure they will be. All of the DVC's I've been in seem to be well done, and in a nice location. I'm just concerned with the overbuilding aspects of the whole DVC concept.

I think that has Disney concerned also. I just can't see a lot of people ready to commit to that kind of large, and long term investment right now. They are not only still trying to sell SS, don't forget the rebuilding of the Treehouses that will also add to the inventory. I just can't believe that Disney decided to expand DVC so much at this particular time. It almost makes me wonder if they have silent investors in these projects.

I think Disney is going to put a lot of things on hold. They seem to be content to wait, and see how the public is going to react. To my way of thinking now is the time for bold agressive action on their part. Now is the time they should reestablish themselves as the leaders in the family entertainment field. I guess that's pretty bold talk coming from an uninformed guy that doesn't have his neck on the chopping block. However DL, as well as WDW were both started with bold moves. I think they are making a mistake not continueing in that direction.

Indeed it was Disney's bold moves to originate and push the envelope that made me the Disney obsessive, never the toons. Sadly my obsession is becoming obsolete as Disney has forgotten their roots.

Let's put the Walt back into Disney!

^^^ I really do like your campaign slogan Dave. It pretty much saids it all. I wish more people would feel that way. I know it seems old to some people to think what would Walt do, but the man was a true visionary in the field of good wholesome family styled entertainment. I still remember as a young lad watching the Wonderful World of Disney, and the Mickey Mouse Club (I still fantasize about Cheryl). I longed to visit DL so badly to enter that Magic. Now we have WDW, a stunningly beautiful, huge multiple Park, and Resort area. Something I wouldn't even be able to comprehend as a child. I should be happy to have something like that to be able to attend, but I'm not. I once was very happy, but with time some of those feelings started to slip away. Call it the MAGIC for lack of a better word. I still think it's there, but it's being covered up by Cheap Wall Street Promotional Campaigns. Every year there is some lame change of a slogan unless they want to milk it even further like the never ending Year of a Million Dreams. I feel like I'm watching the Directors cut of that Promo now. Guest don't want Promo's, they really want the Magic that Walt gave them. I certainly hope the powers at Disney start remembering their roots, and give the guest what Walt did. Real honest to goodness Magic, day in, and day out. It's not to late to start now. So I agree with you Dave.

Let's put the Walt back into Disney!
