Spirit, you have to be one of the most depressing people I have ever read posts from. With all that is going on in the country right now, never mind the world, how do you find the time to dedicate to such negative thinking? You must have been that kid who never got the buck rodgers toy ray gun for Christmas. Disney is going to continue to make quality product, you just have to patient. You are the one who constantly argues with people when they talk about upcoming project rumors, and then you go ahead and get upset when disney doesn't give you any upcoming project rumors to complain about. Don't worry, WDW is doing a bunch of things that you will be able to flash your annual pass at to get a sneek peek. I am sure you already heard about the annual pass 3d exclusive for the osbourne family spectacle of lights. Spirit, I got nothing against you, you are probably a nice person outside of all of this, but you need to stop attacking disney for no reason.

>>>but you need to stop attacking disney for no reason<<<

It isn't for no reason. Have you been to the other Disney resorts recently? WDW is bigger, but the quality is soooooo much less than the other resorts around the globe.

And as it is supposed to be a Disney resort and is heralded as the flag ship, I think Spirit is on the money.

The MK is pants compared to it's cousins. The resort hotels offer subpar service compared to their cousins around the globe or even lesser priced competitors down the road.

The maintenance is a joke, and the homiginization of merchandise and dining is really taking away a lot that was once very special.

I am sorry bh82, but I think Spirit is very right. Hence why I prefer to spend my money at DL or DLP, or save for a trip to Asia. I am angry about the state of WDW, and as a local that has supported the resort from near the beginning, I can only imagine Spirit is much more (I know I would be).

Heck, even the cast members on here who are huge Disney fans agree with him.

No reason? I think there is a dozen plus reasons whether you choose to see them or not.

If we all forget the past and accept this future they have given there is no hope for this company. I will not accept this is "as good as it will get" for this company. I know what Disney can do and refuse to accept this current state.

I love the Disney company- but right now I do not like it at all...

-em - you and I are on the same page. But just like I have tried to carry hope for my country through the dark times, I hope that we will see a return to greatness for Disney too.

FWIW, Michael Eisner is on record that DL is the flagship. Maybe no longer under the current administration.

I feel DL should be, but it is not marketted as such internationally (in Europe not many under 40 even know there is a DL in California)

There are many in America that believe Disneyland was moved to Florida in the 70s.

<<Do they realize at all how stale a product they have?>>

<<Not until attendance plummets. When that happens it will be just like the mortgage disaster: "no one could have seen it coming", "it caught everyone by suprise". >>

Yeah. I guess that's how it will go.

It's like people just ignore what's around them and then wonder what's happened.

Universal and Busch are investing significant sums into their parks, while Disney sits back and is going to wait and see what happens with the economy. That just ensures years more of stale products and marketing campaigns masquerading as new reasons to visit.

It would be so nice to hear that Stale Mountain is closing for 18 months (or even two years as was the original plan) to be reinvented for the 21st century.

It would be so nice to hear that Fantasyland was about to start on a $400 million upgrade that would include The Little Mermaid swap out Snow White for a Beauty and the Beast dark ride and add smaller things (like the rumored SW mine train rolley coaster as well as new shopping and dining).

It would be so nice to hear that Adventureland Veranada is reopening as a new dining concept.

It would be nice to hear that Wonders of Life had a new concept and was about to start construction and that the abomination that is Journey Version 3.0 would be replaced by something approaching what was originally there.

It would nice to hear the Monsters coaster is a go for the Studios and that Star Tours 2.0 has a definite opening date.

It would be nice to hear that 1991 and 2001 era parades at the MK were being replaced by something new.

It would be nice to hear the Diamond Horseshoe was reopening with a real saloon show with real (UNION) performers.

It would be nice to hear Rivers of Light had somehow come back from the dead for DAK after Dark.

It would be nice to hear that Illuminations was going to be replaced by a newer, even more spectacular, production.

It would be nice to hear that Camp Meet, Greet, Grab and Grope was going to be replaced by a major E-Ticket experience.

Yeah ... it would be nice ...

But hey we're going to get President Obama in HoP ... and the American Idol Experience ... and a new food court where PI once stood (because Disney can't get any of the outsiders it wants to sign contracts to move in) ... and between those things and more DVC and free tix on your B-Day, Disney PR and Marketing will work their arses off to convince you that they have a fresh product.

They don't.

But why should I care? In 2009 I'll be visiting DL (multiple times), DLP and TDL (and who knows? maybe HKDL too if I am lucky) ... so what if my beloved home resort is staler than McCain for President signs along the side of the road?
