I still remember its first two years when many Disney CMs and suits would search it out because it had such great unique African-inspired cuisine like durban sugar can chicken skewers, tandori-chicken pizza, amazing smoked tomato soup, African house salad. They've been dumbing it down for years, but now it might as well be Pecos Bill's or Liberty Inn. There is nothing remotely unique and the quality has fallen. Boma, while still excellent, has also seen its menu offerings dumbed down to appeal to the chicken fingers, mac n cheese and burger crowds. Jiko is still wonderful, but it too has a more bland slate of offerings at prices that have doubled since the place opened ... and, no, costs haven't doubled. << When will it ever end? Those 3 places were worth the taxi ride over even if the Resort itself wasn't so grand.

I had read so many negative things about this resort, and then along comes your very positive report. It made me rethink how this Resort really presented itself. >> And even if it sucked, which it most assuredly doesn't, it's in HONG KONG (one of the world's most amazing cities). << I also know that if it had sucked, you would have said that no matter how magnificent Hong Kong is.

I made my first visit to Disneyland 41 years ago. I have also seen the pictures, and read the reports of a lot of people. TDR is spectacular by almost everyone's account. I know Dave really likes both DL, and DLP, along with many others. While that is definetly not as good as a visit for myself, I figure that many people can't be wrong.

But I do adore Epcot and DAK, just not enough to put up with all the issues. When Dl and DLP make me feel better about my experiences, they get my attention and money.

Soarin, Tower of terror, splash mountain, philharmagic, peter pan, , the tree of life might not be a ride but I still think it will be just as amazing in 40 years./// I wouldn't call ToT, Splash Mnt., Peter pan or Spaceship Earth 'new'----- the newest one of those is already 14 years. ///spaceship earth redone was great/// I found the redo with that ending absolutely a pile of cow droppings. Furthermore by the very nature of the attractions Soarin' and Phil those two will be a joke in 20 years due to their sheer obsolescence. Soarin's film already looks very dated and it's only been a few years.
110	barboy Thu 11/13/2008 10:06a	//I'd say lack of (Buzz's)upkeep and a 'don't give a damn' 'tude from management.// How about slobs and vandals from Europe, US and Latin America who drop trash anywhere and deface the queues? It's not just poor management but poor guest culture. Guests in Tokyo Dis. Resort, which might well be 99% Japanese, keep their parks clean and know how to behave. They respect what they have.
