>> I had a great time on THAT trip!
(the last stay at my beloved DAK Lodge before the DVC plague descended on it!) <<

I haven't been since they started building it. I sure hope it doesn't change the feel of the resort for me. We've never stayed there, but we've eaten
there on numerous occasions. It's unusual to find a Resort with 3 very fine eateries. We have spent hours there just looking at things. That place is Disney done right. I believe it was Kennesaw Tom who pointed out in an earlier post about the unique parks, and Resorts still coming out of WDW. I think he might have a good point with this. Has Disney put their best talent into designing Resorts rather than theme park rides? When you look at AKL the Park itself is a classic. It's Imagineering at it's best. Look at most of the Resorts on property. The rooms themselves, and the service might not be as grandiose as you would expect from Disney, but the Resorts for the most part are stunning. We've spent a considerable amout of time just visiting all the resorts. I think that one could argue that Disney has abandoned the designing of classic rides to concentrate on their building boom.

They do get 6 weeks off at the end of July and all of August, but I find the humidity difficult enough in Nov, I suspect the summer would floor me.

Like I say, we had a fantastic honeymoon in 2000, but with soooo many slippages, it makes me nervous given we have not yet gone to Tokyo or Hong Kong DL yet.

Definetly no way will I go there in any of the summer months. I knew you had issues with the heat, and humitity just like I do. I can see your reasoning of going to the other Disney Parks, and passing on WDW. That is a lot of money, and time to commit to a Holiday in Florida. I know the next time you decide to go it will be completely different. At least I would certainly hope so.

I wouldn't worry about Tokyo. I haven't heard to many complaints about that Resort at all. From the pictues I've seen of it, I could spend weeks there just looking. I would never have to even get on a ride. While I was completely floored by Spirits report on Hong Kong it does give a glimmer of hope to that resort. Im sure you, and your family would enjoy all 3 Asian resorts. I know I wish I could visit them as well as Paris.

MPierce, maybe we should rent ourselves out as testers for Disney. You know, go to the various parks to compare them, let the execs know what will draw in the average tourist, etc. They of course would pay our way.

That would be great as long as it's not in the summer time. Being like a mystery shopper, and getting paid for the experience would definetly be a dream job. They would have to pay us a lot of money though. When I walk around WS lagoon at Epcot I find it difficult to pass up any of the beer kiosk. At $7.00 a cup that can get rather expensive.
I on the other hand would be more than willing to volunteer for the job with you.

I really do wonder if they have some unbias opinions coming in like that. I guess they rely completely on their surveys that are worded in a way to come out good, no matter what the guest experience may be.

I was reading this thread earlier, but didn't get time to post and I was surprised that PhilHarmagic didn't get a mention sooner.

Whilst I'm not sure it'll be playing in 40 years it is a well presented show that has already been cloned (with at least one rumor every couple of months that it'll be cloned further). I think it's a show with legs.

I am starting to wonder if all of the good general themes have been used. We've got Pirates, a Haunted House, Fairytales, a Western, a Jungle Expedition just off the top of my head.

If we were talking movies we'd have Action/Adventure, Horror, Westerns, Comedies and Romances covered.

What else is there? I'm not trying to be clever, I'm sure I've some, but with the exception of perhaps Superheroes it seems that most of the traditional family genres are now taken!!!

In June, they surveyed one of my daughters, the blunt one who doesn't sugarcoat anything. Maybe she'll post here.
