I have always longed for an Ancient world/myth theme to be played out by Disney. There are also new countries that could be built. As well as the focus on several historical areas for exploration. Also there could be further explorations into science and what the future holds.

| u k fan Tue 11/11/2008 3:33p | But I think it was Shakespeare who once said that there are only 7 stories and everyone was just retelling those stories.
I'm not sure new countries would provide much scope for "Classic" attractions based on what's already at EPCOT. Only The American Adventure could be considered classic and I don't think we're in for another one of those again soon.
I'm not talking about putting new slants on existing themes such as energy because even if they ripped out Ellen's Energy Adventure and replaced it with something cutting edge and future-looking the theme is still energy.
When it comes to the MK have they run out of themes or stories to tell without duplicating what's already there? Would Western River Expedition be needed in the MK with Pirates,BTM and Splash already there?
They really do seem to have most bases covered already.
The Walt quote doesn't mean that more can't be added, but that perhaps we should now be looking at less broad themes and being a bit more specific within those themes that exist already which leads us to Stitch in TL or Nemo in The Living Seas.
It's these broad themes I'm talking about, not what's in them. There can't be many left without scraping the bottle of the barrel.
I do agree that an area based on Ancient Worlds/Myths would be good. If they ever wanted to compete further with Sea World I'd love to see Atlantis at DAK!!! |

Agreed. It's almost as nice as a Six Flags line.
And so is the line for Philharmagic. Several times I've seen trash overflowing in the queue. |

| vbdad55 Tue 11/11/2008 3:53p | <I am starting to wonder if all of the good general themes have been used. We've got Pirates, a Haunted House, Fairytales, a Western, a Jungle Expedition just off the top of my head.
If we were talking movies we'd have Action/Adventure, Horror, Westerns, Comedies and Romances covered.
What else is there? I'm not trying to be clever, I'm sure I've some, but with the exception of perhaps Superheroes it seems that most of the traditional family genres are now taken!!! <
Space travel / undersea adventures / Science fiction |

| davewasbaloo Tue 11/11/2008 3:56p | Hmmm, I think DAK has a lot of potential. However, one big issue I have with DAK (despite being a huge fan) is that it does not have many family friendly attractions. I would have thought it would, but taking a 19 month old and a 3 year old showed me that sadly it does not. There are a handful of attractions that can be enjoyed by all at the same time compared to an MK park or even Epcot. But I think DAK has a lot of potential, a huge amount. |

I'm not trying to be smart just playing devil's advocate, all of the broad themes seem to be taken. It must make it harder for imagineering to be original?!!! |

| MPierce Tue 11/11/2008 4:03p | u k fan I understand what your saying, and partally agree. There is a limited number of attractions that can be produced without cloning exsisting ones. I just don't think that point has been reached yet. There are still a lot of both old, and new ideas out there that can be made into a classic given the right people working on the project. While it's true that EE is just a roller coaster, and the Materhorn is a glorified wild mouse type ride the themeing sets them apart, and makes them different. There is new technology being developed every day. I'm sure some of the imagineers that aren't completely stifled within the WDC could unleash some brillant concepts. |

| u k fan Tue 11/11/2008 4:08p | I think there are some themes left to explore as well I just think that some of them will be very similar to what's already there.
I'm not talking about the technology used, but the theme around it. I do agree that as new ride/show systems are developed new themes will be discovered through the nature of those developments!!! |
