Very nice. I am so glad DLP was the first park to do this and now it is spreading to the others. It does feel very special.

Absolutely gorgeous!!

Do they perform a similar ceremony at Disneyland when lighting the castle for the first time?

And I noticed that the "Fab 4" characters' eyes blink! How do they do that??

Thanks for these great photos! My family and I saw the castle lit up like this in person last Christmas, and it is spectacular! Go see it if you can!

The castle indeed looks beautiful and the lighting is spectacular but.....I don't know if it's the head space I am in these days or what but these saccharine character shows just drive me up the tree. All the cloying tweeness of it all and the sappy sentiments make me want to rip their heads off.

I understand this is a large part of why many people go to Disney parks but I just find the characters and their "OH GEE WHIZ ISN'T IT ALL SOOOOO MAGICAL!!!!" proclamations to be the height of cloying ignorance.

Please bear in mind this is my opinion and I DO understand, as I have already said that a lot of people love them(hell, as a child I LOVED MM and thought he was real, but that was when I was a child).

I know! Somebody on LP called them Bobbleheads and now I can not get that image out of my thoughts when I see a character. I do not like thinking of MM as a bobblehead. And it does seem the characters at WDW bobble a lot more than at DL. Of course, WDW has more "shows" perhaps that increase the dramatic effect needed...Anyway Mickey is still real to me.I still believe.

wonderingAlice,

Mickey and the gang not only have blinking eyes but their lips move as well. Its an amazing change and makes the character shows even better when they are used.

I am a big fan of the syrupy character driven shows. Part of the rejuvenation that I find when I visit a Disney theme park.
