Favourites: Fort Wilderness (Did I mention I did a lot of my trips via RV growing up?) and Poly

Least Favourite: Dolphin, was rather dirty during muh convention. That and I'm very biased against Starwood for the way they treat their elite guests and outrageous pricing at many of their properties. They seem very dated. They said they're supposed to be expanding by 600 hotels. Thing is everytime I stay somewhere that hotel seems to leave the system. Ie, Niagara Falls NY for example, a couple in Maryland, Sheraton Bal Harbor being replaced by a much more expensive Starwood Branded property) or seems run down (Westin Southfield/Westin Bellvue), or horribly expensive (W NY).

Back on topic, Poly was a great experience. It was one of my parent's 3 honeymoon hotels. So it's very dear to their hearts.

Haven't been on site for awhile though. Hopefully next year I'll stay at another resort. Guessing i'm going to try POFQ.

I've stayed @ all the value & mods and 3 of the deluxe resorts.

Favorite~WL with POFQ & Poly close behind

Least favorite(so far)~CSR

Would like to stay~CR tower MK view if I have to pick one.

Actually we hope to stay @ all the resorts over time. We still have CR(as mentioned), Y&BC,BW & GF left. I didn't count S&D.

Wouldn't stay~none

We don't mind the values at all esp when we make last minute trips and don't plan much if any time other than sleeping in our room.

We have been very lucky with our experiences. The only resort we aren't very fond of was CSR and we certainly would stay again if it was what was available when we booked it just wouldn't be our 1st choice.

Nice thread thanks for starting it.

I hear many people say Poly is one of their favorites. Is there anything not to like?

The Poly is my favorite, but I realize it's not to everyone's taste. I really love the laid back island paradise.

there's always something not to be liked or vice versa ... that said the Poly is one of the best resorts at WDW and I would put it near the top of my list and I have really good taste.

We've been fortunate enough to stay in seven resorts. Here's our consensus. Beach Club: Pool was great hit with kids, but room was filthy and we've not stayed there since.
Boardwalk: Great location, lots of choices for food, easy walk to Epcot, fun activities on Boardwalk, great spot to people watch. Could see fireworks from our balcony.
AKL: Our family's favorite. Great theme, love Boma and food court, can always be entertained by watching animals. Location is not the best (long bus rides and waits).
Grand Floridian: Pretty, but not made for kids. Room seemed small, long walks to get to main building and restaurants.
French Quarter: Small, easy to navigate, seems quieter than many resorts. Our choice for budget-friendly vacations.
Riverside: Long walks to bus, numerous bus stops just to get out of the resort. Food court is big, noisy. For the same price, stay at FQ.
Caribbean Beach: Pretty, but too big. Extremely long walks to food court and main building. Inconvenient if you want to grab a snack on the way back to the room from a park.

We are going to WDW in 2010 and the Poly is at the top of our list. Stayed twice at WL and it is one of our favorites.

We stayed at WL this summer, very very nice experience. You don't feel like you are in Florida. Except for the miniscule snack room, and sometimes long bus waits, it's excellent.

I've stayed at CBR, POR, POFQ, Sports, Movies and Pop, and I've never had any major issues with any of the resorts. POR is definitely my favorite because we enjoy the atmosphere. CBR is my least favorite because I don't like the layout of the resort - everything is soooo spread out.

The Poly used to be my favorite. We stayed there in Dec. '71. It had been open 3 months and it was fantastic. We hadn't return to the poly since until 2004. After that experience, I won't stay on prop again. I have said this before, but I will repeat my complaints. The sheets were crap, the towels so thin you coulds see through them. The mattress was worn out, lumpy, and urine stained. The wallpaper had moldy spots. We payed right at $350/night. I have since stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for $199/night. I will NEVER pay for an on-prop room again.
For those that have current plans to stay at the Poly, I have heard that it has been refurbed. I wouldn't know I won't go back.
