as an avid Donald Duck collector (actually have a guest bedroom done comploetely in Donad's)- from the paint on the wall - to Big Figs - to Trevor Carlton Oils -- and I feel your pain. When one goes to WDW now with money saved to buy anything - there is nothing. Art of Disney likely still would have had the Armani piece and the new release from WDCC - however not sure your daughters age and these are not 'toys' if you will. That round mushii -- I ended up getting it from ebay from someone in Japan.
the heads of merchadise are a box of rocks IMHO |

| CarolinaDisneyDad Wed 11/12/2008 6:51a | vbdad55, We didn't look there, we did look almost everywhere in all 4 parks and dtd. She is only 11 so art wasn't on the radar. 7 years ago she bought a donald beak with a duck caller in it and blew it for months. But, this kind of stuff just isn't there anymore. She would have loved a bobble-head. Donald is one of the big four. I'm shocked they don't seem to realize that they need a variety of merchandise |

Wait what!? Is that even possible? The whole Safari Village section already IS a giant WoD/Emporium rip albeit split between 2 buildings. The ONLY place i can find AK Merch. is in Harambe Marketplace!

| davewasbaloo Wed 11/12/2008 7:55a | As a kid, I always dreamt I would grow up to be comfortable and able to afford all the Disney merchandise I longed for as a kid. Now, there is so little. There are some high end pieces and a lot of generic junk. And what is worse, they sell the same rubbish across the three non Asian resorts, most annoying.
My wife always remarks that I never buy myself anything when we go to WDW/DLP etc. My rationale, we already have the good stuff or the quality is not there. So now we tend to buy stuff for the kids (with their growth spurts - it's the only way Disney get merchandise money from me). It's not that I don't want to buy stuff, I gladly would, but I am tired of Mickey and the Nightmare stuff is either feminine or juvenile. Not a lot of other options out there for a guy.
DLP have had the same range of neck ties for about 10 years now!!! |
