Yes, I suppose I'd have to agree with you in cases of emergency or disaster or something. But on busy days, there is no fire marshall involved directly. In fact, in the several times I have been involved with closing the tickets booths, entry gates and finally re-entry gates there was no fire marshall to be seen anywhere. It's not as glamorous as one might think. It's basically a few operations managers from Security and the Resort Duty Manager watching the counts and making the call. I guess what I meant to say, and should have said, is that when this happens as a matter of course on busy days there is no fire marshall involved.

I would assume that the rules are known and in place in these cases.

Thus, the infamous "fire marshall" is unlikely to be anywhere around.

The only reason the fire marshall would be called would be if there were some incident, in which case he'd be the man in charge most likely.

Otherwise, I think it's all but assumed that a big amusement operator knows the rules and is following them. And the authorities probably check in from time to time to make sure the procedures are being followed.

Just my guess.

Actually the Fire Marshall is at DIsneyland almost everyday, after the fireworks happen the entire backstage and parts of fantasyland have to be checked out before theycan let geust go into the rest of Fantasyland.

The Disneyland Fire Dept. does this, not the Anaheim Fire Dept. DFD is present at any pyrotechnics display in the resort and clears areas once the display has ended.

The info below is from an earlier post by DarkBeer about re-entry, capacity days, etc.

EVERYONE is now being required to get a hand stamp when they leave Disneyland or DCA if they want to be able to re-enter that park later that day. If Disneyland closes to new FIRST admissions, only those APs who have already been inside Disneyland that day AND have a hand stamp will be allowed back inside.

The way it works is they start limiting in stages.
In stage 1) No new outside tickets can get in. New Disney Resort guests can get in and people returning.
Stage 2) No new admissions period. People who are returning can still get in.
Stage 3) No returning admission permitted. At this point if you left you lost.
Stage 4) People are asked to leave. Never seen this happen but a fire marshall could order

Maximum attendance in one day can be higher than “capacity”, as some people leave and others arrive. Daily capacity is based on what attractions are closed, and what pathways might be closed and other scheduled events might be happening on a given day. Capacity is about 60,000

We have returned from a break at the hotel to closed gates. We didn't quite understand so decided to walk to the monorail station. Bad idea. We hoofed back to the main gate to find no lines. If we had just stayed in line we'd have been in the park.

The next time it happened we waited in line about 15 minutes and we all went in.

Just FYI to take a chance and get in line and not freak out :)

We'll be there during a busy time this month and have a couple of PS in the parks. Thanks for the reminder to not assume that we'd get back in if we left :)

And you know this how?

The fire marshall of the city of Anaheim, personally, shows up at 9 and 11 pm almost every day to check on the fireworks?

Um.

Does this work for anyone else here?

Who am I talking to, anyway?

You're just making stuff up, right?

Thought so. ;)

^^^Like I posted in #14, it's the Disneyland Fire Dept. that oversees the fireworks and any other pyro displays. This isn't to say that the Anaheim Fire Marshall isn't ever there, just that he (or she, I have no idea who it is) isn't physically involved in the day to day operations. I seriously doubt dizkid was making anything up, but maybe just didn't understand the role of the Disneyland Fire Dept.
