Then, when everyone heads for the gates we head for the Matterhorn or Splash Mountain. One of my favorite experiences was with my daughter a few years back. Everyone had left but us and we rode the Matterhorn at midnight. Three times! The last trip we pulled off our hoods and just let the rain beat on us. Good times. |

Totally.
Also not a big fan of wet collars (drives me nuts), so in the rain I spend more time protecting my neck than anything else (that, and my shoes...puddles, UGH!).
I also enjoy going to the parks in the rain. Love it when the crowds thin out, and it's just as much fun if not more imho. The only downside is that all the outdoor shows get canceled. That's a bummer.
Sorry to go off topic a bit, but I gotta say that on overcast days or rainy days..for some reason, DisneySea looks even cooler (something to do with the park having a bit of a "dark" vibe to begin with, with the giant volcano and all that). |

There was a story on one of these sites, probably LP, of a couple who went to DL on a rainy day. He sat in NOS and didn't see another person for 20 minutes. Talk about having DL to yourself. |

| danyoung Fri 11/28/2008 12:08p | I'm not a big fan of DL rainy days, although I still manage to have a good time in the parks. But in WDW, when they have those huge afternoon downpours that last 20 minutes and clear out the parks? I LOVE those!

| Dabob2 Fri 11/28/2008 1:21p | The best type of rainy day is when it rains in the morning - not enough to soak you, but enough to keep people away. Just enough that a poncho keeps you plenty dry, and you can do long, indoor things like Pirates, HM, Billy Hill, shopping, Tiki Room, whatever.
Then it clears up, but enough of the day is gone that attendance STAYS low. So you end up with a nice sunny afternoon and dry evening, but minimal crowds.
I've been lucky enough to have a day like that on each of my last few trips. It rocks. |
