I went on Wednesday at about 1pm thinking it was going to rain all day, but didn't get wet at all. |

One trip around Thunder Mountain with the cold rain PELTING me in the face did me in. I sat out a couple of rides and then my back stiffened up. The next day I could barely walk. Not fun memories :( |

Similar experience one March afternoon. It started raining, then the sun set and it got cold and then it really poured. We tried to tough it out but gave up after 1 hour. I have never seen DL so empty. |

It seems to keep people away in the morning and leaves the park less crowded for the remainder of the day. Since we do not get much rain here in SoCal, rain is always nice. (And oh so needed)
I can understand though, how some folks that come from other states (especially states that see a lot of rain like Oregon and Washington State) might see rain as be a bit of a bummer for their trip.
A few years back I was in the the park in September, and it was overcast and sprinkly all day. OMG, that was a great day. My sisters and I walked on all the rides. I think our biggest wait was the time it took to walk around and get back in the line. We ended up riding many rides several times in a row. It really did feel like we had the park to ourselves. And this was on a Saturday!!
I will say this though, I know that when I go (especially during the peak times) I will encounter crowds. My philosphy is that since I choose to go during that time, I can choose not to be stressed by the crowds. Since it then becomes my choice, I always have a good time (and lets face it, I get enough stress for free in life, why buy more?? LOL) |
