Try talking that homedebtor into into believing he isn't broke. |

Disney won't release their occupancy rates for the quarter until April or May of next year. By then, this thread will be buried under a thousand others. Verifying its accuracy is something that won't ever get done, and its easy for people to stake their "reputations" on bogus information that they know will never be put to the test of reality 6 months down the road.>>
SportGoofy, Please discontinue any use of common sense and logic in threads like these, It hurts the premise of what is trying to be accomplished. |

Especially the outside groups that come in and do shows for them. They cut Fantasmic down to like one night a week starting in January and they announced that before the economic downturn. They've also instituted the buy 4 get 3 nights free deal and launched a whole new "celebration" where people actually get in free.
The point being they seem to know what to expect and are taking steps to avoid doing anything drastic. They actually seem to be making good decisions here. Disney should be fine. Universal might take a pretty big hit though ... |

Perhaps they figure that discounts won't bring in the "I'm broke" crowd, so might as well gouge those who will come regardless of the economy. |

| RoadTrip Wed 12/3/2008 9:37a | I certainly would never want to dispute The Spirit or his minion MPierce. That would give me absolutely no joy whatsoever. But in this particular instance The Spirit must have acquired his information from someone who had no clue what he was talking about.
I decided to go to Disney's online reservation site and see what I could find for several resorts I picked at random. I looked for lodging for two, with a check-in of 01/10/09 and a check-out of 01/17/09. Here are the results;
Boardwalk Inn Unavailable Yacht Club Unavailable Polynesian Unavailable Wilderness Lodge Unavailable Port Orleans Riverside Unavailable Caribbean Beach Unavailable All Star Music Unavailable
One of the resorts I checked did have space. But of course this resort ALWAYS has space.
Saratoga Springs AVAILABLE!!
Sorry Spirit. No Cigar. Not even Close.

Right smack dab in the middle of those dates is the marathon. It always sells out. Why not give them a call, and talk to a real person. You might be surprised what you come up with. Try not using the days of 1/10 & 1/11.
