HTML clipboardGroup RCI, the global leader in vacation exchange, and Disney Vacation Club, one of the world’s most innovative and fastest-growing brands in the vacation-ownership industry, announced today a new multi-year affiliation relationship. This new agreement allows subscribing members access to a broad array of exciting vacation opportunities.

But this is not really that great in my experience. RCI seems to have lower quality trades than Interval International. They have really spun this, because now it means DVC will on be able to trade into 4 Seasons, Marriott, Wyndham and Starwood Resorts with ease.

On the plus side for Disney, affiliation for RCI is cheaper, so they will make more margin while offering their owners lesser experiences. I am really sorry to see this happening.

I was wondering what incentive there might be for Disney to part company with II and go to RCI. Given that by Disney's own admission most DVC members don't trade out to use non-Disney timeshares, they probably figured they could save some money going with RCI and most people wouldn't notice.
