| GCOND4 Thu 8/16/2001 4:24p | I feel cheated. While I am not a huge Muppets fan, I think that this ride would have made me one. It sounds simply hilarious. I can't believe I was busting up at reading an article. I can see it in my mind and it looks great. Would have fit great at DCA too... |

The next person in charge of Disney (or Eisner now) may want to bring in something big and cool and fun in order to get the public to like Disney, again. You know everyone would love it. I'd spend the hundreds of dollars to travel all the way to Florida (I'm a west-coaster), I know I wouldn't be the only one. Disney parks are full of American staples: Disney (of course), Star Wars, Indy. Of course they should have some major Muppet Stuff. |

| CuriosWolfSo Thu 8/16/2001 11:15p | Having just read the Jim Hill's Newest Column on the Muppets (Aug.16)I would have be thrilled to go on "The Muppet Movie Ride" and eat at "The Great Gonzo's Pandemonium Pizza Parlor"! Oh,man! But now I doubt they will make those today since Disney is spending money on unimportant things (Fox Family Channel) and cutting back on superb attractions. *Sigh* |

I'm thinking of a 700 Club themed attraction...with a simulation of killer earthquakes and hurricanes, maybe even a meteor. But of course, the ride would only operate the first week in June! |

Throw in a TOT, nix Bountiful Farm, put in a Muppet area with this kind of stuff, and wham-o... you got probably the second best Disney park in North America.
I hope that appeals to somebody... |

| dlport Tue 8/21/2001 12:35p | This has been a solid series of articles Jim, nice work.
I feel compelled to compliment you because I posted very critical comments of your work during your "why I don't write positive stories" rant. It would be unfair of me not to give positive feedback when you write something that I enjoy reading. This series definitely qualifies, keep it up. |

| DL-2000 Tue 8/21/2001 2:06p | Love the series Jim. Just one comment about part six. I think there was a little too much generalization involved in branding Lincoln's fans as "Orange County right-wing Republicans". I know many Republicans, particularly those from the South, that aren't great fans of Lincoln. Conversely, I'm sure many Americans, regardless of party affiliation, consider Lincoln to be a great guy. I think the article was a little too general and accusatory in that regard.
Also, by reading the article, I assume that you would have been in favor of the Muppets as a replacement for Lincoln. My only question is, how do the Muppets fit into the Main Street USA theme. I just don't see how it could be integrated.
Overall, a great job as usual. |
