HTML clipboardThis new program lets Southern California residents enjoy the Disneyland Resort magic throughout the year with an Annual Passport, while paying in 12 monthly installments. By selecting the payment option, Guests will pay for the cost of a 1-Day, 1-Park ticket upon purchase and will pay the remaining amount over the next 12 months, with no finance charges applied. For example, a Guest purchasing a Southern California Select Annual Passport for $134 would pay $69 at the time of purchase - with the remaining balance of $65 spread out over the next 12 months. |

Lately when I have gone I have seen people with big bags of food and soda's having their picnics at coke corner, plaza inn (outside near corndog cart) and over in DCA. I have seen them with coolers rolling them along. The best was the white styrofoam cooler guy - he just left the cooler in next to the trash - the CM in DCA (near Monsters where the restaurant was) said at least they cleaned up their mess - most aren't so nice. |

I personally will cross the street and eat a much better meal at Mimi's AND save $.
I like the food at WDW and the quality served at the DLR does not even come close. |

This seems to be assuming an awful lot. I would certainly utilize this. It makes it easier then spending all that money in one chunk and I'd probably feel a lot better spending my money in the park knowing I didn't just spend all my money at once.
I know several people who's APs renew in December. That can be a hard time to renew since you're already spending extra cash. But they're fairly big spenders in the park frequently making purchases at Disneyana. I know they plan to use this new offer to make it easier on themselves and I highly douby Disney will be losing ANY money.

| MomluvsDisney Tue 12/16/2008 6:30a | I agree with your Beth. I suspect that people who take advantage of the payment plan will feel that it will free up more of their money to spend in the parks. Some may view this as a savings since there is no large outlay at the beggining. Thus they can spend the "savings" at the parks when they go. I would be more then willing to bet that this is what Disney is counting on to happen.
To be honest I may utilize this program myself, as it will make it easier for me to purchase my DD pass when she will no longer be free to the parks. |

"Maybe Disney ought to take the hint that their food prices are way too high for the quality that they serve."
But that's where the park makes it's profit. It certainly isn't coming from the rides and attractions. |

| FerretAfros Tue 12/16/2008 12:53p | I wonder if Disney is hoping that this will keep the folks who use it coming back more often? I would assume that there are people who buy an AP and only use it a couple times, but if they keep seeing it pop up on their credit card bill every month they would be more likely to go and spend time (and money) in the parks. It seems more like a rental thing that way, where you only have so much time to use it, no matter what you paid in the first place. |

| Darkbeer Tue 12/16/2008 8:25p | The Monthly Payment Plan has been offered at SwaWorld San Diego and LEGOLAND for years, and both companies are happy with the results.
With computerized Turnstiles, if the Monthly Payment doesn't get approved by the Credit/Debit Card Company, then the AP is blocked out, and the guest is referred to Guest Services to fix the problem. |
