| Darkbeer Tue 12/23/2008 6:31p | As first mentioned at MiceAge on December 15th... (MousePlanet claimed their info on December 17th was first...)
http://micechat.com/forums/blo...ore.html
Disneyland Resort Entertainment is getting MAJOR cuts...
The first was Princess Fantasy Faire, with basically everything except the Meet and Greet and the merchandise/food being cancelled (The Money Makers remain open).
Based on Disneyland.com
DCA is getting some major cuts...
Aladdin is going on Hiatus as of Monday, January 5th.
HSM:3 will go to a Friday through Sunday only schedule (might be offered on some Monday Holidays).
Pixar Play Parade will remain at 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday)
Drawn to the Magic is on Hiatus
Brother Bear will remain (Friday through Tuesday).
Playhouse Disney will remain at 7 days a week.
As for Disneyland..
NO Parade as of January 5th for the foreseeable future (my educated guess, mid March for Spring Break - "Celebrate Today"
No Fantasmic! as of January 5th
Remember Fireworks not offered until MLK, Jr. weekend (a couple of weeks off, then just weekends).
WOW!!!

| SuperDry Tue 12/23/2008 6:52p | Am I reading this correctly? Starting Jan 5, DL has:
- no parade - no Fantasmic - no Fireworks (except for weekends)
<<< WOW!!! >>>
You've got that right, Darkbeer. Doesn't sound very magical to me. |

| gadzuux Tue 12/23/2008 9:16p | I never visited 'princess vanity faire', but I thought the whole thing was a profit center. Don't they charge money for the face painting and hair weaving and girly stuff?
And is this something anyone going to miss?
The big surprise, for me anyway, is the lack of any scheduled parade in DL for the forseeable future. And as we talked about on another thread, POD is gone forever. I won't miss that either. But its odd that they wouldn't try and replace it with something/anything. They've been running parades down main street pretty much every day for over fifty years. You'd think they'd have some spare parts they could cobble together fairly quickly if they wanted to. Doesn't seem like it's important to them at all. Hmm. |

| friendofdd Tue 12/23/2008 9:50p | I agree with you, gadzuux.
At the least they have had a "character parade" consisting of a float/vehicle or two and a few characters riding and/or walking. |

| EmmaJayne Tue 12/23/2008 10:48p | I really liked PFF.. Although I felt the little girl make over's were just creepy and over priced it was nice to have a show on so many times a day and I love being able to dance with the Princesses.. The story time was lovely.. It was a nice mostly quiet place to relax and with several princesses to get through you could return many times..
It's sad to think the area will become just a meet and greet station.. And Disneyland without a parade, fireworks and Fantasmic! just seems lifeless.. Let's hope it's only temporary. |

| gottaluvdavillains Tue 12/23/2008 10:59p | I am a bit confused in this thread you say this... <<Aladdin is going on Hiatus as of Monday, January 5th.>>
But on the micechat you mention it this way...
<The show will remain with just one main cast, which means a 5 days a week schedule, even during peak times>>
Do you know which it will be? |

| SpokkerJones Tue 12/23/2008 10:59p | I posted a while ago that the free birthday visit wasn't all it was cracked up to be, especially since it was probably going to come with plenty of cuts to entertainment.
An annual pass does not sound like a good value for early 2009. Vote with your wallet and don't renew if you don't like these cuts. |

| SpokkerJones Tue 12/23/2008 11:01p | Are there any cuts to attractions? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more stuff opens late or closes early.
