The info Al Lutz provided today on his front page is accurate, and clears up most of the confusion. Go read it at Miceage.

was this part of the post really necessary. Its funny how some people make it seem like there is a competition going on and that one site or another will get a prize

Uh, there is a competition going on. These sites are revenue generators and vie for the most readers. Why do you think they are so jam packed with advertisements? To keep the lights on? No, some people make a living off of them (though some use volunteers).

Maybe this is why I couldn't get a straight answer when I called guest relations regarding extended hours. I wanted to know if extended hours will be in effect the first week of June. I didn't get a concrete answer, nothing specific. I am pretty sure that the folks at Disneyland know ahead of time about hours and shows and other summertime activities.

This far in advance, they probably do NOT know. I think a lot depends on how attendance plays out for the first few months of the year.

Not to mention ego generators for some! When I hear about what goes on with some of the other sites, it's really quite amazing.

Re: multi-day visitors

last December, I was there for 5 full days. I decided to wait, and not see the Holiday fireworks until the 3rd night or so, and then they were cancelled.

I think in the 3 times I tried to watch the fireworks, they were cancelled twice.

So, even if they were offered, there's always the chance they get cancelled.

Same goes for the parade. If it's raining, they don't run the parades.

So, I just see it as more opportunity to see what's offered at DCA. I have yet to see HSM3, PPP, and Playhouse Disney (I have a 4 year old). I also have yet to ride TSMM.

I just think people are blowing this way out of proportion. If POD is out due to new parade, well, that's perfectly understandable.

Re posts 32, 33, 36. Just pointing out that no matter who was first, the specifics have been revised a few times since. Kind of makes it meaningless to be first.

^^^ Agreed. Though I think DB stated it that way as a response to the MP statement. I doubt he would have stated it that way otherwise. Just my hunch.

These are other cutbacks that I read on some Disney site on the Internet. There was a picture of Mickey Mouse on it, so you know it HAS to be true...

-Instead of fireworks display every night, cast members will pass out sparklers and juggle glow sticks for 10 minutes.

-Turkey legs to be replaced by Lunchables.

-The Dapper Dans will be reduced to a duo.

-Certain lands will be closed to the public every other day.

-Brand spanking new Fantasyland Dark Ride-style AAs will be used on Pirates, Splash, Mansion and Indy.

-It's a Small World will consist only of the lower 48 US States.

-Churros to be replaced by plastic lunchbags full of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

-The Main Street, er, Disney's Electrical Parade will take place entirely in the dark.

-Cameras on Splash Mountain to replaced by artist doing stick figure renditions.

-Number of ghosts in the Haunted Mansion to be reduced to 9.

-CMs with no dental plans are no longer required to smile.

-Parades now consist of various Disney characters marching single-file down Main Street USA.

-Buffets will be fully stocked in the mornings...and not be refilled until the following day.

-Hamburgers will cost $5. Buns and the option of having it cooked will be additional costs.

-Instead of pins, the CMs will be trading food stamps.

-The Bank of America will re-open on Main Street...and will actually be a legit banking center: get a mortgage from the Mouse!

-Exotic Tiki Birds and rare flowers to be replaced by used Teddy Ruxpin dolls and Chia Pets.

-Jungle Cruise will consist of a boat put in a CircleVision-style theater where The Jungle Book, The Lion King and Tarzan will play in an infinite loop.

-Pirates of the Carribean to later become Pirates of Pittsburgh.

-Tomorrowland to be renamed Now.

-DCA to be redone with three new lands: Mojave, Compton and Eureka.

-AAs from past and present attractions will form to become The American Carousel of the Haunted Country Bears of the Carribean.

-Mr. Toad's Wild Ride to become Mr. Toad's Commute.

-New Value Package Deals consist of looking at attraction posters while CMs describe the attraction and sing its theme song to you.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
