I read on mouseplanet that Pirates and Peter will be going down towards the end of February.

How reliable is that information? I have not been able to find the same info anywhere else and am hoping they are wrong (fingers crossed).

Thanks!!

There should be a refurbishment schedule on the DL website.

I have a couple of ride refurbs sites bookmarked and both are no longer working.
The Disneyland web site has the list for each day on the calendar. Since the calendar only goes so far, it was nice to have that list, even if it was "scheduled" and subject to change.

I just checked the Feb schedule and nothing is listed for refurbs. This seems kind of odd, isn't Small World down then?

We typically vacation end of April, beginning of May and the April list is up, but not May.

My understanding is that due to the changes in the entertainment schedule, DL is still working out their 2009 daily operating schedule. The online calendar, which would normally be updated through about March by now, goes only half-way through February last time I checked.

Mouseplanet reports that, according to the internal calendar, Pirates and Peter Pan are scheduled to go down sometime in February, but there's no indication of how long. If the Peter Pan refurb is the one Lutz reported on some time ago to install new ships with two rows for extra capacity, it will probably be a lengthy one. I imagine Pirates is the boat drying refurb, which usually lasts at least a month.

Could anyone please tell me about the new look at Peter Pan's Flight? I read on another site that the pirate ships now can accommodate more people at one time, making the queue go faster.

True?

I was there the other day and it didn't seem like they were any bigger. Still taking parties of two and smaller parties of three.

Here is where I read this information from:

http://www.mouseplanet.com/8852/Weight_Gain_vs_Wait_Loss

Here is an excerpt:

"The flying pirate ships outwardly resemble the old ones, but one witness detected a lighter color scheme. The lap bars have also been redesigned to prevent guests from wiggling free. But most significantly, the boats are wider than their predecessors.

“Depending who you talk to, it is because guests have gotten bigger, or the wish to increase the number that can be loaded into a boat to increase guest capacity,” shared the source. “But a lot of ride operators are saying this is a result from Small World—a trend to accommodate ever-bigger guests. WDI (Imagineering) has been keeping quiet.”

Likelier, however, was the desire to allow more families to ride together and reduce wait times at one of Fantasyland’s most popular attractions, since the new vehicles can accommodate four riders instead of the prior maximum of three.

The old Pan vehicles, explains a Fantasyland cast member, “were already among the largest in Fantasyland and could comfortably fit three good-sized adults. The problem we constantly had was that there would be a family of four with two lap sitters and, even though the boats could easily fit them with room to spare, we were only allowed three total, often causing upset guests and station backups leading to breakdowns. Hopefully this will resolve that issue.”

Anyone else NOT notice any differences?
