| monorailblue Tue 1/13/2009 3:14p | Well, I've decided to try to curtail my serious rants. I think, in the last few months, I've largely succeeded. But that hasn't stopped me from getting under other posters' skin. Apparently, I irritate like a good rash. For some reason, that seemed very funny today. That's all. |

| lesmisfan Tue 1/13/2009 7:50p | and not all disney management is bad! The managers in the area i work with are great and supportive! they do things to regonize cast member efforts, like bbqs and parties and regonizing cast members that get compliments from guests. I love my management team, they have helped me out so much. I have been told by other CMs that our management team is pretty amazing compared to others so maybe im just lucky. |

So...it boils down to: * the Cast Member parking situation * Worn down break rooms * Substandard service and quality at the Inn Between
Is that it?
I think there have already been a couple of posts in this thread reminding us how parking used to be for Cast Members. How great does a shuttle have to be if it is taking you on a seven minute trip to your car?
I really don't see a problem with Managers parking elsewhere. There are companies that give priority parking spots over employees. I think that's the real world seeping into Disneyland.
As for the break rooms, who wore them down?
And for the Inn Between, a Cast Member should be able to get a decent meal there for $5 to $7. A very quick and effective way to improve service and quality of food would be to simply stop spending money there. As long as the outsourced company can make money, they will continue to operate as the y have been.
Also, every manager and executive in the Park should be required to eat there at least once a week.

| monorailblue Wed 1/14/2009 11:09a | I never had a problem parking in the old lots--or getting out of them, not even on the busiest summer and holidays. I had continual problems in KCML, including from the very first day. Personally, I added a full 45 minutes to the time I left the house each day. Not an improvement in the slightest. |

| Mickeymouseclub Wed 1/14/2009 11:36a | Cast break locations? On NY"s Day after the fireworks the crowd exit was behind Main Street on Adventureland side. I noticed an area surrounded with chainlink fencing and (judging by the smell)the Disney Sanitation Disposal. One lone cast member bundled in hat/ scarf trying to read in the outdoor darkness/poor lighting provided. Was this a cast break location? |

| Westsider Thu 1/15/2009 2:01a | Mickeymouseclub, if that area was on your right as you walked backstage that was the official "Main Street West" break room/area. It's disgusting, and people sit outside by the trash compactors because the inside break area smells even worse. Most of the time Jungle Skippers or Foods CM's from the bakery or Coke Corner just find a milk crate or something to sit on in a corner. That's more comfortable than the rancid smelling "official break areas" in that part of the park.
Some break areas are better than others. The ones off of Main Street are some of the worst. |
