| u k fan Tue 1/20/2009 3:51p | In theory I dislike the ideas of characters in IASW, particularly at DL as it's first permanent home, but y'know on the day that Woody and Stitch wave to the first paying guests who see them the sun will still rise, night will still fall and civilisation will continue.
I think that this whole incident may have put IASW into even greater context.
While the real world argues so does the Disney fan community, meanwhile the children just look forward optimistically to what lies ahead!!!

It was always about the merchandise, wasn't it? |

So, your take is that adding characters to 'it's a small world' is desecration.
Got it.
Have you notified Mary Blair's family to let them know how you feel? I'm sure they'd be touched. |

Mary Blair's nieces have also spoken out: http://imagineerebirth.blogspo...ies.html
Those in animation have also spoken out, including Pete Doctor of Pixar fame: http://imagineerebirth.blogspo...aks.html
I admire Pete Doctor for providing his true feelings in a diplomatic but firm way that shows, without question, that he is against the characters.
Marty Sklar can do nothing but mouth off about relevance and Walt always changed things and such.

| Jim in Merced CA Tue 1/20/2009 10:27p | Willfully ignorant. Truth is, SpokkerJones. I simply don't follow every Disney fan blog and thread in every message board. Sorry for not keeping up.
Also, sorry if the creators of 'It's a Small World' are upset about the desecration of the attraction.
And sorry that you think Marty Sklar is a 'tool.'
And finally. I'm Sorry if I just don't think it's that big of a deal.
Have I answered effectively? If not. Sorry. |
