Yes, it was a joke.

Some have perceived grievances with the Walt Disney Co. and I guess we are just frustrated that more people who believe in the kind of thing they do at Imagineering, especially those who work there, have never spoken out.
John Hench was the closest.
I heard that Bruce Gordon spoke out internally and just coincidentally he was let go and then he died. Great... |

It's no more un-ordinary than the CM who planted the cereal boxes throughout the ride.
Sorry Jim ;) ... I'd love it if someone did something on those lines .... But just be sure to take a photo .. and plant it on the internet for all us to see. |

| oc_dean Wed 1/21/2009 3:39p | Hey .. you know what Spokker ....
it is sad those who did have the backbone to speak up are gone.
But it's us little people ;) .. who by little actions like planting the cereal boxes or planting a funeral wreath or anything else can make a point.

I would keep the drama on the Internet and not at the parks. |

| oc_dean Wed 1/21/2009 3:51p | I look at imagineering like this......
First generation imagineers (50s,60s)- gold! Second generation (1970s-80s): Tony Baxter, Eddie Soto, Bruce Gordon, etc. Well taught by the first. Third generation(Late 90s-Aughts): Partially taught second generation, and ruled by "corporate mandates".
And going into the teens .... It's fully evolving into a "We are the Disney! We are now fully in compliant with 'the corporate mandate'. We will assimilate by means of cartoon characters - resistance is futile."
I hate using a Star Trek/Borg analogy for many who read it think it's a trite way to explain the way things have evolved (DEVOLVED!) at WDI ... but can anyone think of a better way to explain it?
