Oh and you don't have to get the card you have other options if you are ap holder...

A birthday FASTPASS® exchange card+ for a certain number attractions at both Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park; or
A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-Day/I1-Park ticket** for certain purchases including select merchandise, tour experiences or for Disney's PhotoPass® on-site services at participating locations at Disneyland® Resort; or
A 1-Day/1-Park ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.

Could you use the "Fun" Card to buy a ticket for a friend? It doesn't seem to say anything in the fine print against it, but I feel like they might frown on that. I know you can just get the ticket for you to use before your next birthday, but it seems like they would probably want to see an ID with that, and doubtful it would work until after your birthday...

Keep in mind that admission prices are likely to increase again this year faster than the rate of inflation... so, the later in the year your birthday falls, the higher dollar amount of gift card you'll get.

Of course, it is possible that the merchandise prices will also rise... leveling it out.

Ok so question here. I'm renewing my season pass the same day as my birthday. I bought the delux pass from Cosco with the deal that was mentioned here previously...can I use my fun card to upgrade it to a premium?

The fun card is only good ON your birthday, the same as the free ticket into the park.

So, if you go on your birthday, get the fun card, and don't use it, you can't use it at WDW later. Heck, you can't even use it the next day.

I'm going for a week in October to hit both girls' birthdays. I can't wait for them to have their shopping sprees!

I used it on Thursday and received the "Fun Card." LIke Darkbeer said you can use it for anywhere in the park except third party venders and for food. As a father of a 10 y/o boy I can say that he enjoyed spending $69 of Disney's money. We didn't have any problems using the card either.

I thought it couldn't expire due to some California law against gift cards expiring. I know this kind of walks the line, since nobody actually pays for the card if it doesn't get spent (Disney just keeps the money), but it still should fall under the jurisdiction of that law...

We confirmed with both the ticket seller and someone in Guest Relations that the gift cards at Disneyland due not expire.

I figure that is due to California law.

Of course, if Disney declares bankruptcy all bets are off.
