| myinnerpeterpan Mon 1/12/2009 8:12p | Okay, my teenage son and I were just talking about what ever happened to the original DL entrance sign and a lot of the nifty things from "days gone by." So, with that in mind, we want to hear about your nifty DL collection of nifty stuff from nifty days gone by. (Yes I like the word nifty...it's nifty). Do you have things that were handed down from your grandparents from opening day? How about cast member costumes or mouse ears? Do you have part of DL itself...like an Autopia car or something from the old sub ride? Please share your history!!!!! Hey...where is the old entrance sign anyway? It was sooo, nifty! |

<<In the 48-year history of the Disneyland Resort, three different signs have stood at the Harbor Boulevard entrance. The sign up for auction was the most recent sign and was taken down due to the construction of Disney's California Adventure in 1999. Actor John Stamos purchased the reverse side of the marquee letters with a closing bid of $30,700 when they went up for auction in 2000.>>

I've also bought a few tickets on eBay from when they had the A-E tickets instead of full access to rides upon payment for entry to the park. I recall using the A-E tickets as a child in 1978 and we would have been soooo thrilled and felt like the luckiest kids in the world to be able to ride whatever we wanted! |
