| ArchtMig Fri 1/30/2009 7:37p | Can't wait to smell if the trains' exhaust smells like french fries! But in all seriousness, this is a totally great idea. |

(Probably not) I can see this being easier for Disneyland to implement over a private car owner (well unless you want to have bit more Cholesterol then recommended) |

Probably not, because used cooking oil is a commodity to be sold. Unlike most waste that you have to pay to have hauled away, there are companies that will pay you to come and take away your used cooking oil. This is mentioned indirectly in the article where it says that while the market price for bio diesel is $1.90/gallon, Disney will incur cost savings from that since they are contributing much of the oil themselves. |

Just kidding, really. This is a good move by Disney. Now if they would only do something about Autopia. There is nothing futuristic about noisy, smelly, gas-powered cars. |

| Anatole69 Sun 2/1/2009 1:51a | ^^ Yes, it's time to move to electric cars for Autopia. That would actually bring the ride back in line with the futuristic concept of tomorrowland anyway, not to mention being better for the environment, and it would be something they could use to sell as a refurb of the ride in park promotions.
Win win.

| Nobody Sun 2/1/2009 9:59a | It's unfortunate that they have to ship the used oil off to the Coachella Valley for processing then have it shipped back for use. Perhaps some day they can do it in-house. (They could even make a display of the process somewhere in TomorrowLand.) :-) |

The Imagineering work has already been done, as the recently-opened Autopia in HKDL is electric. |

Now let's just bring those cars to Anaheim, add a couple of show stops that Bean mentioned they are cooking up for Tokyo and some night time lighting similar to HK and then this attraction will be like brand new.
