***there's one...of Winnie pooh....you sit in this car, it shakes very little(not exciting ) and shows u around a world that tells a story of winnie the pooh.. all parts of the story are just Card Borads..huge..but...card boards.....
2D...***

I guess my point is that sounds more like "Disneyspeak" than anything an everyday average person would say.

For example "shows u around a world that tells a story", aside from the pidgin English, that's verbiage that someone like Leemac would write (or, posters on a Disney fan site of course), NOT what regular people would write.

Regular people would write something like "there was this Winnie the Pooh ride, but it seemed kind of cheap and cheesy". (whether in Chinese or English or whatever)

Also, the whole "huge, but cardboard", and "2D", that would imply that the rider had experienced theme park rides that WERE more three dimensional and immersive...and to my knowledge no such attractions exist in Hong Kong.

I'm calling "shenanigans" on this one. Sorry.

***Ahh... she is a smart one. It surprised me a little too, but like I said she is really sharp.

Don't get her started on Bush, for example, she definitely has an opinion on him as well. haha.

Well, then. I'll just take your word for it. :)

Feel free if you want too. You are just being paranoid though.

I sent her a PM. If she replies I will post it here. If not, oh well.

Believe it or not, I don't really care.

Not paranoid, just curious.

No worries bro. I don't really care either. ;)

Like I said, I'll take your word for it.

(do you live in HK, by the way? just curious...I love that town!)

No, I visited as part of my China and Japan trip in late 2007. I have friends there who I met through Xanga.

I was going to visit HKDL but didn't because I was talked out of it. haha.

This is her complete poll form. I gave her the link to LP and this thread, so I hope she is happy that we are making her a star of sorts. lol.

???It is moderately priced and only cost double the price for a day's trip in return for a ticket that you can enter Disney from Monday to Thursday for free the whole year round.and except public holidays too.

2)I've been there once becuz my dad wants to , I was less than willing to go.

3)becuz my dad wants to ,

4)No ..becuz it kind of sucks .It's even smaller than the Ocean Park. The palace is so fake and small. There arn't much shows on the immitated villages and streets. There are souvenirs for sell everywhere , boring...it's like they just want your money instead of make u feel happy.

5) It's nice..riding on the train , it's slow and I can enjoy the view.
There are many themes...but...some of them are a little bit....low-class.
for example, rides for children ...little cars for them to drive with tracks that
doesn't even need them to drive, they just sit there. ...worst...adults can't go
on those rides..they're just tooo stupid..

and there's one...of Winnie pooh....you sit in this car, it shakes very little(not exciting ) and shows u around a world that tells a story of winnie the pooh..
all parts of the story are just Card Borads..huge..but...card boards.....
2D...

IT's nice though in some themes , there's this ticket machine..u just take a number
and u can go back later wifout lining up.

6) most of them are expensive...some of them are relatively cheap..tastes good.
Glad that there's no mcdonalds.

7)It's a mistake,
It's horrible.
It ruins the reputation of HK or even CHIna
It's small...and it's losing its money everything (probably )
iT'S NOT as educational as local theme park , Ocean Park.
So I think kids would have more fun in OP then DNY.

Interesting results thanks for taking the time out to do this Anatole. Whats really interesting is that no paterns emerge and everything is kind of mix. I'm more confused than ever as to how locals see and view this park now. But what does look for certain is that the verdict is still open on this park and providing the right management moves are made not everything seems to be lost, just yet.

I have to diagree about there being no patterns.

I took from it that the parks tickets are moderately priced but the food is expensive. In the target group of my respondants, most found the park boring but had been there more than once... which tells me it is a strong market for the park.

Also most of the respondants felt the park wasn't a mistake, again another sign it's a strong market with a weak product.

At least that is what I took from my poll.
