| Hans Reinhardt Fri 4/3/2009 9:51p | NIMBYism is a practically a pastime here in San Francisco. The fact that this thing got built at all is a big surprise to me. You should see the coal raking GAP founder Donald Fisher's new modern art museum got. The guy was offering to set up a permanent state of the art facility for his art collection (similar to the Getty in LA) for free in the Presido and all hell broke loose. A new proposal was recently submitted, and if it gets built it will be very near to the Walt Disney Museum. |

I live on Nob Hill. It's a hike to the Presidio, but I've done it many times. Unfortunately I'm too busy to volunteer, but I will definitely be visiting the place when it opens. |
