Interesting. It's been 21 years since WFRR was released. I'm wondering which direction he would take the film's characters? In what era would the film take place? Would it even be considered novel now using CGI now versus traditional animation? If it does get done, I do hope he can get the rights to all the characters like the last film. Seeing Looney Tunes, Disney, and other characters all interacting with one another is what truly made the original film such a delight to me!

$20 says it will be in 3D. I welcome Jessica back to the big screen!

There was that. There was also the fact that Roger and Eddie were great characters and it was a good story.

I'm a big WFRR fan, but I almost hope this doesn't get made. Sequels too often cheapen the originals.

^^ It depends. Many times if it is a trilogy, the second film is the best, and it is the third film that is the weakest one.

Something coming this late after the original makes me worry a little bit. Zemekis still has some creativity left though, so it might not be too bad. A large part depends upon who they get to write the screenplay.

I've no objection to series that are planned as series. It's the stories that end with "happily ever after" and then get sequels that generally disappoint.

As you say, though, a lot depends on the screenplay. My fear is that it could turn into an exercise in fancy visual effects with neither brain nor heart. (Back to the Future II & III, anyone?)

Turn into?

(My opinion of the first movie is not the majority one.)
