Thoughts?
I think the animation looks beautiful and am so glad that they returned to 2D hand drawn. I've had my fill of over done computer animated films (no offense Pixar). I really hope the movie does well and that it can stand among some of the best Disney animated classics.
***SEMI-SPOILER ALERT***
The animation for Princess & the Frog reminds me quite a bit of Don Bluth films (Thumbelina comes to mind), but it has that touch of Disney that you can't quite put a finger on and pin it down exactly. |

The shot of the facade of St. Louis Cathedral was stunning and the shot of the interior was near perfection! I visited the cathedral 2 weeks ago and except for not seeing the statues of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph on either side of the altar (perhaps they were behind the columns)it felt like I was there! |

I thought the same thing when she smashes him with the book, but that thought quickly went away when they started showing al those great clips. Don Bluth wishes he were that good. |

Hey, Don Bluth gave us "Secret of Nimh", and for that (and its music) I am very, very grateful. :) Heck, Thumbelina's music has some great moments, too.
But, as usual, I digress. I have high hopes for this movie. The frog prince does seem charming (and humorous) and I hope that controversies aside, this will take its rightful place among Disney's classic animations. |

| basil fan Sat 5/16/2009 10:29a | I think Thumbelina has great music! The film could've been good, but...
Secret of NIMH is still worth watching.
Princess & the Frog looks great (stay on topic).

| FiveBearRugs Sat 5/16/2009 6:46p | Wikipedia calls this the 49th Disney full-length animated film. I say it's the 48th... they're including "Dinosaur"...does that movie count?

| TheRedhead Sat 5/16/2009 7:38p | Dinosaur was made by Feature Animation, it's animated and full-length. If Chicken Little counts, why wouldn't Dinosaur? |

| FiveBearRugs Sat 5/16/2009 8:44p | LOL...oops, I've never counted it before. All my lists are wrong! |
