What do all those soaked CMs do the rest of their shift? Surely they don't continue to work in those cold wet clothes. Do they keep changes of clothes for this type of thing?

Everyone, at least every smart person, who works outside in FL keeps a change of clothes handy. I got SOAKED yesterday shooting weather video for the news station I work for. Fortunately it was at the end of my shift. So I just went home and changed.

If you're referring to the performers, the costuming division takes care of all that stuff and they have (usually) multiple costumes available. Backstage there are plenty of sweats and other available garments to wear between sets.

As for the others, I think they can go to the costuming window to exchange clothes if necessary (not sure about the procedure, as I only ever worked in Entertainment where they take care of that stuff pretty well).

Pretty much, its harder at MK and DAK due to the location of costuming but it is possible

Doing a Parade in a Downpour is FUN FUN FUN! The ground Characters either get cut, or get to dance on the float, and choreography is cut. It's especially fun to see Princess get all wet and droopy, while trying to stay in Character, and NOBODY is watching the Parade! It's a good time for all!

Disney is a company who makes dollars, not sense, which is why they will send an entire parade out during a downpour, yet cut the parade before a little sprinkle. Even Tokyo & Hong Kong have a special Rainy Day parade, yet the REAL Disney is too cheap to do this.

I have to say that looked like a fun parade!

Mr F, on the contrary, the Magic Kingdom does have a rainy day parade as seen here:

What happened here was that a downpour began a few minutes after the parade began its route so they were caught in it on accident.

I was there that day and saw the parade. The floats were booking down main st. I dont know why they even attempted the parade. I remeber a few mins before the parade was set to start i was next to a manager and i saw him consult his blackberry and look at the weather radar as the sky was getting dark but no rain yet. I swear just as the floats were coming out onto main st, it started to pour with thunder and lioghtning. Apparently it was too late to stop the paarde but the floats were flying and it was abreviated. I had never seen anything like it in my life. The parade went up main street then back again. Not its regular rte.

Guessing by the guests in the video, they didn't expect the rain to be coming either. Most of them aren't wearing ponchos and don't appear to be too wet yet. It also looks like the last few floats didn't make it out, which would imply that the storm started after the parade stepped off. If they did just go up Main Street and turn around, as GalDisney said (and that would explain why they're going down Main Street in the wrong direction), that makes me think that they were doing the best they could to get the parade backstage ASAP.

As for rain in general, I just got back from 10 rainy days in WDW (it rained over 2ft while we were there, which is more than an El Nino year in SoCal!), and the CM's seemed to not really mind getting wet. Every day when it started to rain, everybody was a little tentative about going outside, but once it was clear that the rain wasn't stopping any time soon, people just put on their ponchos and got on with their days. While we were willing to do it to get everything in, I was very impressed by the willingness of CM's go just go out there and get wet and step in deep puddles. Clearly they're used to it, since they all just took it in stride and continued about their business.
