For our trip in Aug we can get a park view for 5 nights for just $415 more. Are these rooms noisy? I read somewhere that there is a construction view out the park view rooms, where is this and where should I request to avoid a construction view.

Also are the bunk bed rooms smaller than the 2 queen rooms or do you end up with more floor space if you get the bunk beds.

Ask for a view of GRR, or a room in the east wing. There is no construction currently in the GRR area. It's in the PP area, which also has rooms near it that are "park view."

The thing is, they take your request, but don't guarantee it. All they guarantee is the type of view, but not anything specific past that. Your best bet to get what you request is to check in as early as you can, even if the room isn't ready yet.

Thanks. It would sure stink to pay an extra $400 and then get a view of Construction. We are checking in on a Monday, so not sure if that makes things better or worse. I wonder if a downtown disney view would be a better choice?

I loved the GRR view (you can also see TOT, which looks particularly nice at night), the monorail going over the GG Bridge, the Soarin' building, pretty much all of HPB, and even a little of DL (Space Mountain anyway, from some of those views).

But many people like the DTD view - it's also cheaper, and you wouldn't have to worry about getting a construction view.

Do you have kids in your party? I don't know if the room without bunkbeds is larger or not, but I wouldn't do the bunkbeds again if I had the choice. My kids move around a lot when they sleep, and the top bunk has a rail that can be lowered with some sort of key (to make the bed easier). That rail moves a bit when you bump it, so it rattles if hit. My dd(10 at the time) was bumping it all night because she moves so much --- it kept me awake quite a bit. The next night I let my younger sleep up there, it wasn't as bad, but still noisy when she bumped it.
The other 3 nights our youngest slept in the big bed with us and our oldest slept in the bottom bunk.

We were told by a CM that the rooms are the same size but you have more walking around room simply because the bunk is less wide than a queen. We've had both types of rooms and I'd have to say they are right.

The bunks are also shorter than regular bunk beds. I don't remember the measurements though.

We really like the downtown Disney view but we have never tried the park view so I can't offer you the comparison. Plus the downtown Disney view gives you a slight Disneyland view for the fireworks and such.

I had the downtown disney view last summer...the only thing to keep in mind is that the street performers play pretty late into the night during the summer so if you have little ones it may be kind of loud

We booked a Downtown Disney view room thought Costco Travel. WE got the same price as through Disney but with a free character breakfast and a $20 disney gift card.
I think this was a good compromise for us since we were really looking forward to a grown up night out, but found that our 3 year old is too young for Pinocchio's Workshop. Hopefully we can enjoy a glass of wine and some music on our balcony after the kids are alseep at night.
We decided to go ahead and request the bunk beds as the CM I spoke with suggested if the rail was too noisy on the top bunk we just put our 3 year old on the pull out trundle and our 11 year old on the bottom bunk.

We had a park view last summer over world of disney and looking out over GRR. It was fine but we thought the view was not worth the extra money as we found the best thing about GCH was the proximity to the park. it was not noisy at all as the park is still pretty far away. We did have fun watching the grad night from our balcony though.

The construction is on the other side so if you request the GRR over world of disney side you will be fine.

I went back and forth on the DTD view vs. the park view and the cm on the phone told me the DTD view can be quite noisy for children in the evenings. I think I would try the DTD view next time as you would also have a view of the fireworks from some of those rooms.
