I didn't mind the dog pilots. It didn't take much of a leap after what had already happened. I got a chuckle out of the dogs playing poker, with dog bones for chips. |

Mon 6/8/2009 4:32p | Anyone who has problems with the amazingly gifted dogs in UP may want to closely watch that newsreel that opens the film. It's made clear that Muntz spends a great deal of time with his dogs, so it is reasonable (within the reality of the film) that the dogs can do all that stuff, including fly bi-planes. Besides, the machine guns are triggered by squeaky toys, so, there you are!
(I do agree that the age thing is highly problematical. I would have prefered some passing reference to a Fountain of Youth or some such. In fact, I was fully anticipating it.) |

In reference to the falls in 3 little pigs and Tarzan, don't you guys think they are trying to keep things like that from young kids' books and movies more these days. I mean, just look at the thread about UP! being a Dud, don't know if the OP was kidding or not, but just a tiny bit of blood had his/her panties bunched. We are definitely more over-protective now-adays than back when we were kids. |

If Muntz is about 85, and if he was about 30 when he vanished. And if Carl was about 10 when Muntz disappeared, that would make Carl about 65. You could make Carl a little older if Muntz was 87, 28 when he disappeared and Carl was 12, then Carl could be 71. |
