Disneyland Trip Planning
Topic: Three Questions Before Our Visit

I have three questions before our trip to Disneyland:

1. We will be renting a strollers each day of our visit. Does the stroller rental place open before the park opens? I'd hate to have to spend the first 15 minutes after the park officially opens renting the stroller.
2. Are there any trams that go to (or close to) the Disneyland Hotel, or do the trams only go to the parking garage?
3. Is there a basic list of all the rides that currently use Fast Pass?

This depends on whether or not Main Street opens early. On busy days, Main Street may open anywhere from 30-60 minutes before the official opening time. They then do a rope drop at the end of Main Street at the posted opening time. You can check this for the dates of your visit.

>>2. Are there any trams that go to (or close to) the Disneyland Hotel, or do the trams only go to the parking garage?<<
There are no hotel trams any more. You can take the monorail to the Downtown Disney station, however. Hotel guests were given priority at closing time within the last few years; I do not know if this is still true. Please note that the walk through Downtown Disney is not that long, and is actually quite pleasant. (Unless you're in a hurry.)

>>3. Is there a basic list of all the rides that currently use Fast Pass?<<
Yes. It is posted on the official site, and is printed in the guide maps.

Have a great trip!

You didn't mention the age of your stroller rider. If you are bringing toddlers or younger you might want to bring your own stroller if you think they might fall asleep on the way back to the hotel. The strollers are not allowed past the two parks. You may take them between the parks but not into DTD or into the hotels.

Where can I find out if they open Main Street early or at the official park opening time for the days I'll be there.

I hadn't thought about not being able to take the stroller back to the hotel, I'll have to think about that. Our stroller rider is 2 1/2.

Where exactly do you rent the strollers? I'm looking at a park map I have from 2005 and it shows the stroller icon at the ticket booths. Is that where they are, or are they somewhere after you go through the entrance?

To the right once you get through the gates at DL and on the right past the restrooms in DCA

That kind of messes up our plans. A couple weeks ago we had family members visiting who live in California and will be joining us at DL. We had them take some larger stuff in their SUV that we won't have room for in our small car.

One thing we didn't have them take was our stroller (we have a small one we can take but it doesn't have a shade on top nor a area underneath for a diaper bag).

I guess our only option now if our child is asleep is to carry her from the exit back to the hotel room or take the stroller back to the hotel room, put her in bed and run the stroller back to the park really quick (of course it would have to be before closing time). Unless they have lockers big enough to fit our small stroller, then we could take her out of the rented stroller and put her in our small stroller. Anyone know how big the Disneyland lockers are?

A "trick" parents are using at WDW is to buy the Disney foldup stroller on property, use it for the trip and then sell it on the last day for a discount to another family.I guess you would have to be bold enough to approach strangers with children! Does anybody know if the Disney stroller has a "top" and the current price/discounts,etc...Does DL even sell a stroller in the stores?

There are luggage lockers outside the park entrance, to the left if you're facing DL. When my oldest was a baby we stored our stroller there one day when we wanted to use the back pack carrier for a good part of the day, but wanted access to our stroller. I'm not sure of the cost though.

I was about to ask if something similar might be an option. When we went to WDW (from the UK) we went to target when we arrived and bought a reasonable stroller with sunshade and bag underneath for a little under $50, used it for the trip and then sold it when we got back :)
