Ahhh, #11 was YOUR "rant" so you "failed again". |

| oredisneyfan Fri 6/12/2009 1:05p | I think that is a great price for the GCH we paid twice that for a family of 5 with 6 day hoppers last summer, (it was concierge with park view though) really not worth the extra money, If we stay there again would rather stay in a standard room. we did love the convieniece of staying so close but for the hotels themselves we prefer the PPH.
FYI last march we stayed at the PPH and my whole family came down with the flu. We were very vigilant about hand washing sanitizer and such I attribute us getting sick more to having a 4 year old who puts hands on everything she can than the breakfast we eat or the hotel we stay at. btw I am the kind who wipes down the hotel room with sanitizing wipes, especially the remote, and those bed spreads are the first things to come off the beds even at a disney property and we still got sick.
I totally agree about the buffet's though.

| davewasbaloo Fri 6/12/2009 2:06p | Today was hilarious. Not DL, I know, but I was at the British Museum this afternoon. I bought a hot dog from a street vendor and enjoyed it in the Indian garden. This woman with a surgical mask came up to me and said "you know they are dirty, you might get swine flu". She had a southern US drawl. Very interesting. |

| Pal of Minnie Fri 6/12/2009 2:57p | ok-read the entire thread now. Here are my thoughts: Rider 1 maybe you did not mean it to come off (your op) like it did but it did come off as snooty.
I have worked in very nice restaurants and believe me-there are more than 3 or 4 people that will be handling your food.
That said-do I stay away from buffets? You bet I do-even the ones at overpriced hotels such as the GCH.
But, dlKozy is right-you must not be too concerned about it-so I don't know exactly why you entitled your topic what you did-you are heading for a big ol mixing bowl of germs (DLR) and I doubt that you will be wearing gloves or a mask.
But as far as this topic heading south as it did-you are the one that decided to start hurling personal comments and dlKozy called you on it.
and Rightly so, IMHO.
good luck with your trip and don't bring any of those nasty flu germs down here with you. |

| Rider 1 Sat 6/13/2009 12:15p | Thanks folks – I had no idea I could get drinks by the pool! Sounds like the kids will be getting more swim time!
I have to admit; I kind of sussed dlkozy’s personality after the second sanctimonious rant and figured I’d post again in #19 just to rise He/Sheit into issuing another self-righteous rant. The main point was to see if I could bait it properly to solicit more “Holier than thou” sarcasm.
True to forum! We got 3 rants in a row spit out every couple of minutes.
I’ll bet the thread was printed out and read over and over with an infuriated post spat out after each reading. That protruding blood vessel in the forehead must have been pounding with force!
Sorry Pal of Minnie; dlkozy drew first blood as I consider spitting out self righteous sarcasm targeted to an individual as issuing personal comments. If it came off as sounding “Snooty” it was, of course, not intended.
I’ll stop now – even though I’d like to bait it again. I don’t want to be responsible for a dlkozy arterial dissection or coronary infarct.
If I posted what I initially wanted to, I think dlkozy would blow out all four sections of the Circle of Willis simultaneously!
As Hannibal once said:

| rtjl72 Sat 6/13/2009 2:21p | Rider 1 i hope you have a most magical vacation!! you will be lucky to stay at the hotel that you have chosen! i, too like to stay on site. it makes me feel the experience more intensely.
if we all liked the same things life would be very crowded wherever we went.
dlkzy is....well.....just is. thumper's mom rules should apply here. we should all support each other's vacation plans and be happy that another person or family can experience the magic! after all, did we cme on line here to support and be disney like or to try and pick a fight by being rigtheous? |
