When you think of how some of their songs are part of the Park's most popular attractions, this one just seems to call for recognition like this.
Anyone care to hazard a guess? |

Might be a good time to give them one when the Mary Poppins stage musical comes to L.A.... |

The exact process by which someone is honored with a window is rather shrouded in mystery.

Mystery schmystery. It's been Sklar's call for the past several decades. Sklar has held considerable contempt for both Alice Davis and Mary Blair, so it's no 'mystery' as to why they're missing windows. As for the Shermans or Buddy Baker, I'm guessing the same situation applies.
Perhaps these oversights will FINALLY be rectified after Sklar retires next month. I'm hoping with the huge success of UP that Pete Docter can use this to his advantage and get those windows approved for Davis and Blair, being the uberfan he is of both women.

(I can't imagine why Sklar, or anyone, would have 'considerable contempt' for the folks mentioned above...) |

Plenty enough to bestow more honors, definitely.
<<(I can't imagine why Sklar, or anyone, would have 'considerable contempt' for the folks mentioned above...)>>
I don't get it, either, but I trust the numerous individuals I've known for years, who've made this claim.
Upon closer examination of the "Marty hates Mary and Alice" theory, it's the only possible explanation that makes sense now, given how much time has passed since Blair and Davis worked for WED. Both women have been honored as Disney Legends, and have made indelible marks on Disneyland and other Disney theme parks through their designs and innovations.
The fact that they still don't have Main Street Windows is beyond pathetic.

Do you really think that everybody who has ever made significant contributions to Disneyland enjoys working with or enjoys the personality of everybody else who has as well? That would make for a nice picture, but it is not a realistic view of working relationships. |

Well, Mary Blair has been dead for 31 years.
It is hard to believe that someone at the company today would stand in the way of Walt's favorite artist getting a window on Main Street.....
