Hi! I'm taking advantage of our AP's and planning to pull DD7 and DS5 out of school for a couple of days to visit DLR one more time in 2009. Should we go in October & do Mickey's Treat or Treat (never have been at Halloween time) or in early December for all the beautiful holiday decorations? Thanks for your insight!

Thats a hard one...I go at christams time often and love it. I like to go before it gets too crazy with holiday crowds so the parks close a little early. I've also been to disney world when they had decorations up for halloween and it made me wish I was staying longer for the holiday... I say go on which ever holiday you love more. You can't go wrong with either.

I know this probably doesn't help much but both times are great, I go during both times of year and they offer something different. Disneyland during Christmas is magical even more then it usually is, what is nice is that during Christmas there are different Parades, Fireworks and even the Small World lighting that is special, if you have never been then I would suggest going to this first. Halloween is great for decorations but they don't do a special parade or fireworks although they do have the trick or treat party in California Adventure. It depend on what you think the kids and yourself will enjoy. Hope this helps some!

I would go for Halloween and maybe you will still be able to go for the Xmas Holidays. You never know. Don't forget the Mickey Trick or Treat Party at DCA is not included with AP's. It is a separate ticket event. No matter what you will have fun

Your kids are a great age for Halloween Treat. The thing I like about Halloween time (other than the fact that I LOVE Halloween) is that there are no other obligations. I LOVE DLR at Christmas time but find that I come home to lots of work after our vacation. Doesn't keep us from going though :)

I'd go with whatever works best for your kids and school. We took our kids out every year for a Disney vacation. I tried to tweak it so they didn't miss anything they would be sad about like a play or concert.

When in early December are you thinking about? FWIW, there are going to be a bunch of LPers there around that time. Not sure if this is a reason to go then, or a reason to stay away. ;-)

Thanks everyone! It is a tough decision since it would be fun to do Mickey's Treat or Treat, but then there's nothing like Disneyland at Christmas. I think I'll make hotel reservations for both times and then see how the school year goes.
