Jennibarra and I plan on going to the D23 Expo in September. I will be having surgery on my knee in July and the doctor said I can only go to D23 if I use a EVC. My question is where is the best place to rent? The second question is where is he best place to stay if you are using a EVC that you can get to the Convention Center and DL?

I can't help you with your second question, but I have a referral for the first one. I just returned from a DL trip with my mom, for whom I always rent an ECV. I have used Alan's Wheelchairs in the past, and they were usually pretty good, but we had one breakdown, and another time the battery seemed to lose its charge quite rapidly. So this time I rented from Scooter Village, phone number (714) 956-5633. The scooter looked brand new, it operated perfectly, the battery held a full charge all day, they deliver and pick up from local hotels for free, and their customer service was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend them. Oh, AND, he gave me one day free on a six-day rental. Love, love, love Scooter Village! When you call, tell Shola (the owner, I believe) that Sue from Texas sent you and said to tell him hello! ;-)

Thank so much Pixie, I will look into them. The doctor has told me I can not go to D-23 unless I use a scooter. I am having surgery Wednesday but he says it will take 2 to 3 months to recover. Can you tell me how you got back and forth to Disneyland?

Scooter Village dropped the scooter off at the hotel (the Carousel Inn and Suites on South Harbor close to the crosswalk into Disneyland) before we got there. So Mom used the scooter to get back and forth between DL and the hotel. She usually made two trips back and forth daily (she rests in the afternoon) and spent roughly 6 or 7 hours a day driving around in the parks. And as I mentioned before, her battery kept a full charge the entire day doing all of that.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
