14	jnemo Mon 8/3/2009 9:21a	Well I tried to page her but this thread must be dead to her. We now find to aimlessly drive I-5 without directions on where to stop or drive all the way without stopping because of not knowing where to the best place is to stop.

16	jnemo Mon 8/10/2009 7:55a	We will be driving from Sacramento. We have made the trip many times but wanted to see amazedncal review of the stops. I think this trip with just having surgery on my knee, we will be stopping more offen. Dang, I hate wasting time stopping, I want the trip over with so we are in Disneyland.
17	Mickeysbestfan Mon 8/10/2009 9:59a	I see - I drive from Bay Area monthly. But I will wait for amazedncal to respond. I can only tell you the better gas prices, where each of the starbucks are, and clean restrooms. Travel safely.

19	amazedncal2 Tue 8/11/2009 3:23p	Hi everyone, I'm feeling kind of weird but I hope you'll understand that my list is just that, a random list. It was made over years of riding down 5 and I offered to send it to a couple of LPers a while back, as I thought they could use it. Since then with GPS, mapquest etc. it's something that I'm no longer emailing and I'd never post it online, it's too personal. Please understand that this is something I never offered to do on LP. I'm happy to help out though and answer questions. I'd suggest stopping at: McDonalds in Westly Starbucks in Patterson Starbucks, McDonalds or Andersens in Santa Nella Harris Ranch In and Out in Kettleman City Starbucks or McD's in Buttonwillow Starbucks, In and Out or the Travel Center on Laval Road just before the Grapevine. All of these are right off of Hwy 5. Stay away from small gas station bathrooms. The Travel Stations tend to be good as well as the new stations. The rest stop restrooms are OK, better in the am and always have flies at this time of year. Bring tissue in the afternoons just in case. Have fun everyone and drive safe and thanks for understanding that it's something I'm no longer doing, seriously you aren't missing anything :)
