Salutations All,

Here is an article explaining the Christmas Carol Train Tour:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/m...in_N.htm

My son and I visited the Tour in Sacramento today (6/21). It was a fun event with carolers and other entertainers that kept the wait interesting (it took us about an hour and a half to get on the train). We also got to walk through part of The California Train Museum. Once on the train we got to see costumes, concept arts, models, how the movie was made and orginal editons of "A Christmas Carol" and other works by Dickens. After we exited the train we got to see a preview of the movie. The little bit we saw of the movie was visually stunning and the 3D was effective. I don't like motion capture animation but it looks better every time they use it. I hope the director doesn't change the story (like he did with his terrible version of "Beowulf") but so far this version of "A Christmas Carol" looks promising.

I hope so because I teach "A Christmas Carol" in my freshman English course and I would like to have a version of the movie that is true to the novel and that works well with students (I presently use the George C. Scott version and it is fine, but the Ghost of Christmas Past is laughable as he/she is in all live action versions of the movie).

Has anyone else seen the Tour? What did you think of it?

Have A Disney Day,

MouseBear

My son and I went to see the Christmas Train on Saturday and we were impressed. The movie quality looks excellent.

Thanks for the scoop, MouseBear. I would liked to have gone, but it was a lousy weekend for my schedule. The closest we got was just a drive-by to see what was visible from the street.

We went on Saturday. My girls 7 and 9 my husband and myself. We had a blast. Lines were great. I am sure the crowds picked up as the day went by. We arrived in Oakland "SF destination" at 9, right when it opened. This is a definate Disneyfan must see. We have determined the route the train will make on it's way out of the Bay Area and to it's next destination "Portland". It will be great to get some real photos of the train going down the track. If you have a chance to check this out...Do it!
