I need some help planning our trip to DL. Usually we stay at the PP hotel, but this time we are on a much tighter budget. I was hoping to get some advice from the pros :) There will be 4 of us...me, my sister, my 2 teenage sons. Whats your pick for a cheap hotel, walking distance to DL, pool, clean and did I mention cheap?? I was surfing around and saw a mission suite at the Annabella Inn....anyone stayed there?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Margie

Hi Margie, Have you thought about using Priceline or Hotwire. I booked the Crowne Plaza for $50.00 a night using Priceline. Previously I got the Hyatt and the Hilton for around $60 a night using Hotwire. All three would be considered 3-1/2 star hotels. I booked a three star hotel using Hotwire and got the Cortona Inn for dirt cheap, like $29 a night (can't remember exactly)

I know it's been said here before, but try Hojo's Entertainment Book rate. If you have an Entertainment Book card the rates are great - if they are available on the days you are going.

For example, I'm going July 16-19 and priced Super 8 on Katella. They wanted $62.10 per night. I checked Hojo's and I got the room for $59 per night. AND, Hojo's is within walking distance to DL (about 10 min. walk to entry turnstile).

Here's the link to Hojo's EB rates:

When it comes to booking a Hotel that I have not stayed at myself ... this is what I do ... read the Hotel reviews at travel site like (tripadvisor.com)... and if they are a good % positive (which they are in this case) ...............

If you can get the ET rate at HoJo's. then that is a great way to go. I stayed in the basic double bed room and it was everything I could have wanted.

It is not the closest hotel, but with the ET rate it is one of the least expensive. They will allow you to leave your car prior to check in and after you check out as well. Very accomodating folks there, which is one of the reason so many LPers like it I think.

I have sure read a BUNCH of good stuff on hear about HOJOS....I was leaning toward a suite type room. Anyone stayed at the La Quinta...the deluxe kids suite is $378 for the 4 nights...

^^just thought I'd post this in case you haven't seen it.

If you don't receive a response here about La Quinta, you might make a separate post asking about it. Sounds like a good rate :)

disneylandfan8, I'm curious as to why some of the dates on the HOJO website are in blue, do you (or anyone else:) know why?

Those are the recently added dates, I believe.

I was looking into the LaQuinta Inn also there are some very good reviews on tripadvisor for that hotel, it looks like you can walk right up Clementine and across the street into the Ped entrance. about 15 min walk though.

I have not stayed there but love the La Quinta Inn's in general.

Have fun:)
