concierge is on the 6th floor. the lounge is located prety much in the center of the hotel above the Lobby area so if you have a theme park view room it can be quite a walk.

Room preference really depends on what your needs are. We had a theme park view over GRR and though the view was nice we spent most of our time in the park so it wasnt really worth the extra $$. I have heard the DTD rooms can be lound at night because of the entertainment in DTD. We were very near the elevator which was nice.

I would reccommed a room near the elevators over world of disney but not necesariyl a theme park view. that elevator is right next to the DCA park entrance. and was very nice coming and going to the park. We would often go through DCA to get back to the hotel rather than going through DTD. very nice to get soaked on GRR and head straight back up to the room for a change of clothes :)

rt - That would be great if you stayed there (although the DLH might be offended ;) so I can come and check out those rooms as I won't be staying there anytime soon. :(

We stayed at the Grand 2 times and the last time we had the dtd view and there was a great violinist playing. We shut the doors to sleep and didnt hear anything! However the walk to the elevators was very long. But i would pay to have the same view again.

the 6th floor is the top floor.

I also would like to try the DTD view if we stay there again. with the park view rooms you are set quite a ways back from the park, but the DTD views are right there looking out over it.

I also think you may be able to see the fireworks from the 6th floor DTD view rooms. I know you can watch them from the balcony of the Concierge lounge. and there was a window at the end of the hall that we could see them out of. Not sure about the new display though.

Hey rt. When we stayed at the Grand we had a basic room on the 4th floor and it was looking out towards GRR. We loved it!

I will ditch DH and have a sleepover with you!!!!!

We like the rooms in the 400's overlooking DTD or in the 300's overlooking Brisa Courtyard. We have never had a pool or park view. We like the location of the 300 and 400's so usually ask for them.

I think the maps were originally posted by SuzieQ who I MISS on the boards :(

Forgot.....unless you are booking a really good package, I'd suggest booking directly with the hotel. You do have to pay for one night up front but it can be refunded. We almost always end up finding a better price closer to our vacation. I think they now have a one week cancellation policy. It used to be 72 hours or something like that but no more. But there are no cancellation fees if you do it within their time frame.

Have fun planning!!! This is making me want to book our Dec. trip!
