I am going October 10-14 and want to know if this is a great time to go we have Annual Passes and are going for a birthday on the 11th. I wanted to know in terms of crowds how it will be, it will also be my dads first time in the park. Thanks for any and all help !

Although it's been a few years (6-7) since we went in the fall, the times we did were great. Light crowds, not too hot and less expensive rooms.

I used to pull the kids from school for a week to take advantage, but can't now that they're older.

I read a thread here earlier this week about special Fastpasses for guests visiting on birthdays. You might want to check into that.

Have fun!

Monday October 12 is Columbus Day. My friend was there last year during the Columbus day weekend and she said it was pretty crowded. She lives in Orange County and her kids usually get Columbus day off. Maybe that is why it is crowded on that day.

Yeah I know about Columbus day but thought that maybe because it is the beginning of the school year that maybe just maybe it wouldn't be as busy!!

October crowds have been building in recent years. Partly due to the Halloween stuff, and partly due to some schools having breaks in October now. Plan for crowds and you'll do fine however it turns out!

We have been a couple of times in October when it was pretty busy, but also when crowds were mild. It seems to be the luck of the draw. I have never, howver, been on Columbus day.

As for weather, usually it is mild and sunny. Have been, though, when Santa Ana winds kick up and it was pretty warm, 90 or so. Yuck. I live in AZ so when we go, we want it to be cool.

Whatever happens, I hope you have a great time.
