We're planning to go Oct. 11 - 15 for my son's birthday. My AP lowers our rates here by $100/stay but I'd like to do better. Any ideas on how to get a lower rate?

Keep watching for deeper discounted AP rates on the AP section of the Disneyland.com web site.

Also, if you or your spouse (or any person staying in your room that can book/pay for the reservation) work in the hotel biz, the discount is 30%. You can mention it when booking, but will have to show proof of employment at check-in.

That's the discount we use even as AP holders. :-)

Thanks Wondering Alice! Unfortunatly none of us work in the hotel biz. I don't have the AP yet and won't be able to check the AP website till after I get there. I guess my only hope is that they will extend the AP8 rate that is now only till the end of September.

Hey disneymum... I'm looking at the AP calendar for Paradise Pier now...

For September, the rates are really low for the last week, 9/27/28/29 & 30... $129. October 1 is at $221, which isn't too bad.

You can book it now and tell them you're an AP holder. Just make sure you have it to present when you check in. ;-)

I'm sure you know that you can order APs online... Disney ships them ship pretty fast, but I'd make the purchase(s) three weeks in advance, just in case.

BTW... Those rates don't have a corresponding AP code. It's just what the calendar says. :-)

Me again... You'll want to book soon if those dates work for you. Looks like the cut-off may be August 16 (that's what it shows for AP8, anyway... I'd assume the same may be possible for booking the regular AP rate without the code.)

Our plane tickets are already bought for Oct. 11 - 15 as this is a birthday trip for my son (Oct. 13!). I was kind of hoping for a $129 rate..... guess I will just hope they lower the rates. Thanks so much for your help. Luckily my parkhoppers were "free" through an airmiles program and I already have them.

I plan on upgrading our park hoppers when we get there to DAP. Yeah! My excuse to come back next Spring!
