Topic: Saying goodbye to the Orange Stinger

1	Mickeymouseclub Fri 7/10/2009 9:45a	Full scale construction officially began for Carsland Parking Lot Re-do on Monday and I vaguely recall the date of July 14th for the last days for the Orange Stinger. Makes me wish I had taken more photos of the original DCA including the construction. So Darkbeer are you writing a DCA History DVD/ Book for us?

7	Mickeymouseclub Fri 7/10/2009 3:29p	If only the "locals" had embraced the California quirkiness of the OS and the Dinosaur with sunglasses as examples of California Architecture displayed throughout the State. I will never understand the rejection to DCA. With the cost of travel on the freeways...just how frequently are the native Californians able to visit the tourist choices "sampled" in the original DCA. Even just going to the Santa Monica Pier at night...I preferred the Paradise Pier option If you know what I mean... Anyway I am sure I will love the new DCA except for the MGM/Studios Entry copycat look. MAybe they will use the California Letters in the Carsland along with the Sun Icon and the NeonStorefronts,etc...

9	ni_teach Sat 7/11/2009 8:10a	I thought that the Orange Stinger shut down was pushed back till the end of the summer.
10	jmuboy Sat 7/11/2009 8:15a	It was ORIGINALLY scheduled to close at the end of the summer. The renovation timeline was recently moved up to start ths week.
